This is much more useful than watching someone teaching a specific position step-by-step.

i unfollowed any and all jiu jitsu content from both instagram and youtube other than John Danaher , and if i ever see content from anyone else i just scroll past it, made more progress than ever this way, so many people in jiu jitsu struggle with this idea that they need to know everything at all times to be able to progress, but i just choose one of Johns videos and focus on that specific video for a whole month, for november i will do nothing but these basic fundamentals of guard retention in every roll , and also drill them after class, what my instructor is teaching in class i still do, but just half assed and i delete it from my mind after the class is over, so it doesnt take up space of my actual learning from mr Danaher

Every time John opens his mouth I'm continually blown away by the amount of knowledge he possesses. Wonderful details, thank you for always making easy-to-understand explanations for jiu-jitsu concepts.

These concepts are the sort of things instructors usually never share in regular training. It may come out as an aside or while rolling they may shout it out. He teaches things like this as fundamentals. No wonder his guys are so good.

So beautiful. Makes me feel stupid. So many instructors don't cover (or explicitly know) the fundamentals

What’s beautiful and dramatically sets John apart as a teacher is his ability to share information without it feeling like drinking from a fire hose.

You might consider buying the new series then. They go over it in a pretty detailled way there.
