I think cutting at a more downward angle through the bottle is more likely to have it stay put, but might not want to do it on a metal post. Could just glue it to a pool noddle.

Bradford makes good knives, I have a guardian 3 in rex45 that's a good edc fixed blade. Liked the testing with the noodle.

Nice I dig that blade I was doing some edge testing myself and blew my co workers minds by cutting luan like it was cardboard . Did it with my Manix lightweight in maxamet. If you know what luan is it’s basically like a 1/4 plywood. I almost couldn’t believe it myself the first time I did it
