As a Western Australian living in the extremely dry wheatbelt region of the state, I'm looking at all this rain and wishing we could have just a little of it. Farmers are now desperate for rain here, unlike the eastern states which have had a very wet summer, with dams dry for many weeks/months, no fresh feed available in paddocks for stock and a dramatic shortage of hay/fodder because of a poor harvest in 2023 (because of a less than average winter rain last year and little to no rain since September onwards). Farmers have dry seeded in the past few weeks, hoping the rain will come...... still waiting. Feel so sorry for the troopers (both 2 and 4 legged) having to stand duty in the rain, especially after having to ride from Hype Park Barracks to Horse Guards in the rain..

John we finally got 24 hrs or so of rain. I’m over it now tho lol. I didn’t realize until you got Brutus today that he’s the shortest of the police horses. I’m so wanting a Brutus of my own. Just 4 hands higher lol. I’m tall and when I’m on a short horse I don’t feel right lol. Keep up the wonderful work in Rain,Snow,Foggy and Hot days. I can’t get going until I’ve had my Horse Guards with John fix 😂

I totally agree with you John: Dream job for a policeman/woman would be riding those beautiful horses 🥰🐎 Also, the woman who stood too close for the pic DID touch the gatesman in the tunnel Coz he gave her a surreptitious shove (when she jumps) + you can see the white gloved hand drop back to his leftside at 1:02:40 (a very subtle move)

What an idiot that guy who just dropped his umbrella was!!!. If he was going to do that he should at least have taken it down!!! As it was it was a perfect little sail just waiting for a gust of wind to catch it and send it flying…….incidentally spooking the hell outta the large HORSE right in front of him!! Fool!!That really could have been very nasty.😠 And yeah I think beauteous Brutus probably IS the most famous police horse in London 😂Love his rider too….a very nice gent who is well aware that he’s riding an equine superstar🌟😂 And that’s the first velour leisure suit I’ve seen(unironically) outside “Little Britain” since the ‘80s!! Hi jon. You know i often wonder what the horses must think when they come through the gates to be surrounded by all those tourists probably knowing that they have an hour of petting and cooing over them. 😢 Viper is a lovely horse,love the way he looks everybody up and down lol Omg thank you so much for catching Brutus like you did, he really is a fav of mine of all the police horses we see. Are the Guards cloak's waterproof do u know? Thank you again for filming the Guards. Hope you get a nice cuppa when u get in.

The guards wear wool. So their cloaks and tunics are water resistant, but not waterproof. So in a shower, wool is fine…..you can usually just shake the water off, but in heavy rain, the water can start to soak in, and it gets VERY heavy. Wool can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in water. Good thing is it remains a good insulator, so you might be wet but you’ll be warm😳🤣

Horses who live in the wild have to stay out in the rain & bad weather. Tamed horses usually also don't mind being in the rain. Their coats insulate them

I was watching a film and you said it was Wednesday and I realised it was an old one because I was watching on Wednesday and by the time I get to see them there is at least a 24 hour time gap. I'm amazed at all the tourist that visit Great Britain. New York use to be a great tourist attraction but not anymore. The streets have become very dangerous with all the immigrants who came it and now we are getting terrorist students marching the streets and causing all kinds of damage. The police have been battling them for a couple of weeks now from them destroying Veterans Memorials and blocking roads from people going back and forth to their jobs. It is a terrible mess.
