Watched F1 from 1997 till 2017. Got tired of FIA, regulation failures, DRS, and F1 cars becoming SUVs. I remember Gunther from the Jaguar days. Kevin Magnussen is a hard, old school style racer. Tremendous driver, seems his F1 career might be running it's course. Thanks for the podcast, keep it up vankers.

I always felt like they should bring like ultra ultra soft tires to monaco so that they cannot last the race without two manditory pit stops. The best part about monaco is the laps in/out where they're trying to overcut and undercut teams so make it where that has to happen much more.

Min two pit stops. Something needs to be done. Saturday is awesome. Highlight off the year. Since its impossible to overtake, they reduce the race pace a lot to secure 1 stop.

Is there a decent reason they dont require smaller cars again. Is it safety structures for the drivers that keeps them larger? I know the new regulations have the cars slightly smaller. 3 mandatory stops in Monaco would be best, but not require new tires. They still have to pit and lift the car but not change the tires, would be an interesting tactics change. Since new tires could help, but then youd either have a 1 second pit stop or a 2 second pit stop which could make a racing difference. But ya a longer track with at least 2 DRS over take spots would be the best, if they could extend the track out over the bay in a couple spots

About K Mag, Perez, Hulk crash and Mags erratic driving this year. K Mag for those reasons is my favourite driver this year. Hulk is faster driver, he's been fighting for points more often then Mag. And is it team directives or K Mag trying to help Hulk, Haas, or is it both pure K Mag chaos and team objectives. Some say it's dirty racing, I call it pure racing fighting anyway you can, pissing off opponents, gathering penalties so your better teammate can get pit window and get points. It's pure, badass, team benefiting racing IMO. Crashes aren't benefiting team but disrupting your direct opponents so teammate can score more points than they are is definitely benefiting for the team.

Newey has wanted to be a part owner of an F1 team for a long time. This has been a sore point at Red Bull. This is why Newey got to do his side projects to keep him happy as just a designer. Newey has been kind of pushed aside in the ownership struggle. Williams is a real possibility. Newey would bring a lot of investment money and a big turn around in 3 years time in a real thing. Williams still has Mercedes engines. Perhaps Newey would be open to some consulting work on the Mercedes F1 team? This has real possibilities.
