Today I review Guerlain's 2000 perfume release. Mahora in some ways marks the end of the old perfume poetry and a new dawn, albeit, among the dead. Mahora is a very complex perfume, way ahead of its times and yet ancient. It lives on multiple planes of reality. To unlock its mysteries, in my opinion, one requires deeper knowledge on ancient civilizations, belief systems and olfactive sensibilities. I hope you enjoy the video.

A potent and strange tuberose chypre-esque beauty. Where SL's Tuberose Criminelle was mentholated, cold, futuristic, and alien...Mahora, released a year later, has the same medicinal edge, but has a dusty dry heat, like you've uncovered a primative artifact from a long forgotten tomb. A masterpiece.

What a brilliant and thoughtful review of one of my favorite perfumes of all time! I tried a sample of it in a magazine when it came out, and instantly loved it. Ordered a bottle right away, and still have about half of it because it's so special! The almond blossom, orange and vanilla are mouthwatering; the lush tuberose slightly tamed by green notes and a warm sandalwood base. Unfortunately, I don't remember the mysterious slip of paper and never sent it in - wishing I had!!🌞💮🌿

Wonderful review! What you describe this fragrance transmits is so sad but beautiful and rich at the same time. The bottle design is beautiful as well- looks like a sunrise and sunset all at once to me

Oh 😮... I found your very special review coming home after having purchased another discontinued Guerlain scent in an outdated italian tabaccheria with a stock of outdated perfumes. They had Mahora which I had never heard of, they had even a sample, so I tried it. But it was a hit in the face, one of quality, but still hurtful. So I choose the other one. On my long drive home Mahora transformed and by the time I sat down with a drink it had become a promise and by the time I went to bed it had become a comforting embrace. After your poetic review I know now why. The meaning of the perfume released at the time of the millennium change is pure TRANSFORMATION. As soon as I can, I will return and purchase it, hoping it is still there, waiting for me. Thank you again for your effort and your perfume poetry!

So from this review, I get tuberose, bitter, and hot dessert. Intense floral spells I actually associate with death, been to too many funerals where you have dying vegetation and roses, and for me, the worst lillies. I enjoyed the review.

Such a stunning bottle. 😍💛🖤💛 I’d never heard of this perfume before. What an incredible bottle design and concept and the fragrance notes sound so divine. Also I adore Samsara and am so sad the original bottle has now changed.

Went to a fancy perfume shop the other day and finally sniffed Heritage and Habit Rouge edt and edp; Noema, and fell in love. As I had expected tbh because I happen to be a huge fan of good old French school ❤❤❤

I absolutely loved this fragrance! It had a dry down unlike anything else I have every worn. I own several Guerlain fragrances. I was able to meet with their corporate fragrance rep when she came to Neiman Marcus. I purchased quite a few because I have always loved Guerlain, ever since I was in my early teens. Nothing I purchased compares to this. I have some wonderful pieces, but Mahora was so unique, and it was a spitter, sadly. I never wanted to waste it! I wish I could still find it.

Jacques Guerlain specifically chose parfum bottles for his creations and it seems this design by his grandson seems to still live on in the Guerlain jewel lipstick case.....interesting......thank you for a great review of Mahora!

I loved it from first sniff. What does that say about me? The bottle has always looked like a phallic symbol to me. That may say even more about me.

Thank you for this video. I'm an Aromaphile( someone who loves scent ). Mahora, is one of my favorites hands down. I'm also one of the very few who used to love the 90s scent Champagne from YSL which many others didn't like. I have a question for you: Do you find today's scents don't have the lasting power like they used to?
