My guesses were: Miata: $13,900 (overestimated inflation), Audi: $38,000 (I was WAY low), SSR: $52,000 (I was finally too high.) M3: $34,000 (I was close, but Kennan was closer!) Bentley: $65,000 (Not even close! I should have known is was over $100,000, I remember supercars of that era were $100,000). Spyder $225,000 (Not awful, but they both beat me.) Takeaway - I'm bad at this game.

Base msrp for M3 right now 76k, and for a decent spec it’s 80-84k. And with today’s sizes, M2 is 67-68k which will be even more accurate comparison

Correct! This is what inflation actually is. While the value of the comodity stays the same, the buying power of consumer falls. We earn similar salary dollar to dollar for the past 20 to 30 years, whereas everything else has been adjusted with inflation and hence people pay more on rent, more on groceries, bills and basic living expense and therefore do not have the same buying power to purchase a car as they did back in the 90s.

Audi and Porsche called their automatic transmissions back in the 90s and early 2000s "Tiptronic", shortened by many to "Tip". I guess Doug, Kennan, Nick, and Filippo just got in the habit of referring to referring to every automatic as such, likely from talking about 996 Porsches a lot.
