Recently, teachers in Taraba State joined their counterparts around the world to celebrate World Teachers' Day.
World Teachers' Day is an international day held annually on 5 October to celebrate the work of teachers. Established in 1994, it commemorates the signing of recommendations by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO). The 1966 "ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers" is a standard-setting instrument that addresses the status and situations of teachers around the world.
How good is the welfare of teachers in Taraba State? How are government educational policies helping to shape teaching and learning in the state? These and more will form the basis of our discussion on GUEST OF THE WEEK. I am Bem Haanya, and I am being joined in the studio by the Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), Taraba State Chapter, Comrade Sule Abasu.
