Great tips, saves driving up central coast to buy them. This place closer to parramatta then Raymond terrace haha😊

Great video, not a bad spot after all. Can you try Gymea Baths, I know it’s well fished but you seem to have the magic touch

What is the brand and model of your reel with the counter-weighted handle? Does it feel smoother than the usual handles?
@1upfishingАй бұрын
It's just a budget jarvis walker reel. I wouldn't recommend it for much as it's all plastic and the drag fails to work half the time haha
@Raptured1Ай бұрын
Haven’t been there in a while, normally catch nothing when I go.
@1upfishingАй бұрын
@@Raptured1 yeah I haven't found it to be the most lucrative spot except if you want some bait
@TheMasterMotoАй бұрын
How many do you catch per day?.
@1upfishingАй бұрын
It is usually determined by how many I can fit in my freezer haha. I usually take about 20-25 and then I'm good for a while
@TheMasterMotoАй бұрын
@1upfishing be careful fisheries don't see you with more then 20. That's bucket and freezer can't be above 20 total at any 1 time.
@1upfishingАй бұрын
@@TheMasterMoto Pretty sure it's a limit of 50 no? See Yellowtail scad at the bottom of the page. www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fishing/recreational/fishing-rules-and-regs/saltwater-bag-and-size-limits

G,day, if you take the yakkas home and freeze them....why not just buy from a bait shop? Cheers
@1upfishingАй бұрын
@@stevegriffiths5364 because bait is expensive. And they don't sell yakka for bait.

@@1upfishing Had a few real health problems and its been quite a few years since I wet a line. Didn't know about yakkas and bait shops. Any special preparations to the yakkas prior to freezing. ? Cheers :)
@1upfishingАй бұрын
@@stevegriffiths5364 It's quite rare to find a shop that sells them. No special prep, just freeze them whole in groups of how many you will use in a session, so for me it's groups of 3-4

Kiama Harbour is full of em me and my mates go down bag out of yakkas everyday and the slimys are always around no tips or tricks just small hook small bait simple not rocket science
@YakkasrusАй бұрын
Only tip would be use chicken breast
@slyarsenalАй бұрын
Pillies, size 8-10 (size 12 for tiny yakka, single hook on a paternoster or swivel and light leader is all you need. You don't need squid, sand, etc like this guy. No one uses a 4k reel and medium setup to catch yakka. Just use a 7ft two piece 1-3kg or max 2-4kg rod and a 1000-2500 reel. Thank me later
@YakkasrusАй бұрын
@@slyarsenal chicken works better pillys come off the hook to easy
@slyarsenalАй бұрын
@Boomer12731 Not all year round. When yakkas are less active in winter, pillies always works better. Chicken thigh fillets stay on longer than breast and yes I do agree it stays in the hook longer than pillies but the smell of pillies are more attractive to yakkas. I only use sabiki rigs off the rocks, but off wharves and piers a simple 1 hook rig is best
