Great video advise. I bought two 2.0 Stelvio's, both new in 2018 and 2021 and still have the 2021. No where close to 100,000 but both have been dependable and trouble Free. There are some horror stories out there and have read many of them. I am a motorhead so I pay close attention to issues and resolve them soon as I identify them but as everyone knows stuff happens. Warranty and the 'correct' extended warranty will fix them. I also have a vintage Pantera, a F-150 PU, and a C8 Z51 Corvette and drive them all and race both the Pantera and the Corvette. My only advise is if you buy one pay attention to all the concerns this driver shared. Excellent advise!

Alpha tech here, the sunroof will break, the intercooler/intake will leak, the power seat mechanism will break, the rear tires will eat the inside edges off. Those cars eat coolant. Every single alpha I see is low on coolant. Also if it sits too long that brick that controls the intake valves? Will make the car run like crap. The waste gate actuator will develop slack and cause low boots issues. They are job security. Those lines on the turbo always leak.

Hello dear alfista friend. My name is Davide and I am the owner of a Giulia Veloce 2.0 280HP Q4. I've seen many of your videos but was especially captivated by this one. Unfortunately, in addition to having the problem of the coolant leaking from the hose connected to the tank, I have been struggling with the problem of smoke coming from the turbine for months. I think there is nothing worse than seeing a Giulia smoking from the bonnet!! I changed the o-rings twice but evidently they never gave me the right spare parts, because after some time the problem appears again. Tired of the situation, I decided to directly purchase the entire oil delivery pipe completely new and I hope to resolve it once and for all. I wonder: what o-ring did you use? Did you buy something more durable at high temperatures or did you get regular o-rings? I also wanted to ask you what you think about changing the oil in the ZF-AT8 transmission... I hear so many conflicting opinions, some decide to change it, some don't... And another question is: did you already changed the transfer case oil? It's difficult to do? Is it correct that the transfer case is in the center of the car, near the transmission? Thank you if you reply. I send you a very warm greeting from Italy. You're great, keep it up!!
@jonathanvazquez87554 ай бұрын
You have to make sure the ecm is updated to that latest software as the new programming runs the turbo coolant pump for longer times which allows the o rings and system to cool more and extended the life. Transfer case oil is not hard to do. Easier than changing the transmission fluid but currently only the oem fluid is the only thing available. Anything else is a lie as it will not work and there is no cross reference but it’s currently unavailable/ on back order.

Great info as usual man, thanks and congrats on your wedding! Question on the Car Status -Maintenance you brought up. I bought mine used with 13k and under the maintenance menu it stated that maintenance had expired. The dealer I bought it from stated that 10K service had been completed and confirmed that on my carfax. Is there any maintenance not provided by the 10k service that should be done by 13k miles? Or did the shop not properly update the system? Can the issue be that only Alfa can update the maintenance information? Or a special code reader? Thanks in advance!

Thank you so much! We had a good wedding for sure. I have a video ony page on how to reset the maintenance menu with a program called multiecuscan and a few cables. I would take a Giulia 2.0 over any German car, from a reliability / maintenance / repair cost standpoint. I've looked at and driven several of them, and have done a good bit of homework on them. They don't seem to have a lot of major issues, and the relatively minor ones that do happen tend not to be consistent, common failure points. Since I do all my own maintenance and repairs on all my cars, including a couple of exotics, I avoid cars that are going to cause me a lot of grief. I checked and found, for example, that the ZF transmissions seem to be pretty bulletproof. They're used on multiple brands of cars, and don't seem to fail. The engine is an uprated, turbo version of a 4-speed used in Jeeps, and you can get a good used one with 30,000 miles, shipped to you for about $3500.00. That's really inexpensive. But, from what I've seen, they seem to be very reliable. I don't know how the Stelvio and Giulia 2.0's compare, but they are very similar cars. I don't know how the Quadrifoglios compare to the 2.0's either. But the fact that the Quadrifoglio engine is basically a V6 version of a Ferrari V8, you can bet it's an expensive engine, if anything does go wrong, and it has two turbos. If one fails, you can bet the second wont be far behind. So, I've ruled it out for me, based on the fact that they sell for more than twice the price used, and the fact that they are a lot harder to work on.

@@shlumpgod I wouldn’t say lemon but google Giulia forums and running out of gas there is a ton of stories of this happening to people. Oh another question, i have the V grill light installed which connects to the fuse box and a professionally installed stereo system. Do you think this would ever cause any issues or know anyone who has had issues installing aftermarket things?
@alfamods2.0T Жыл бұрын
The V grill won’t pull enough power to cause problems unless it stays on all night or something. I have seen issues with the stereo systems if it’s pulling huge power. The car without adding stuff already has well know battery problems. Depends how it’s set up and how much watts is the amp/ subs set up is. V lights no problem.

I’m dumb asf when it comes to checking shit I go into a dealer not intending to buy anything and I come out with a car. My Honda accord was totaled yesterday so I went to the dealer to just look at cars to get an idea as to what I should start researching. Well, I saw an Alfa Romeo (never heard of it before) and I loved how the inside looked like. Asked the price and they said $24k. Long story short, I came out the dealer with that car. I absolutely fucking love it but I haven’t checked anything underneath the hood and today while driving to work I heard a rock hit my car I just didn’t know where and later I noticed a chip on the window. Luckily I have warranty for that so ima have to go back and get that fixed

At this point I know of 5 over 100k in the us. Driving it a lot means less issues than a parked one. I really do recommend getting a leaser mile one. Like 40k. Your best bet is to get one with factory warranty like a 2019. Right before it runs out get mopar max care for a few thousand extra then your covered if anything happens. I have a 2018 and love it. Been reliable so far, just normal maintenance items like oil and brakes. (Either I have a heavy brake foot or it just loves to burn through them) regardless no issues here. I think part of the reason there aren't many high mile alfas is there aren't many to begin with 😅 on top of them being relatively new to the US market. The Giulia is very much a buy now and we'll know in 10 years how they held up car at the moment
@berzerker790 Жыл бұрын
@unuesokami8736 depends if you really need the AWD or not? It's a little bit quicker 0-60 having AWD but the extra weight means worse MPG & it's more to go wrong. In my opinion you don't need the AWD it's not like you'll be taking it off road 😂

I would say no, unless your very confident in fixing things your self. The car is reliable but higher mileage more risk. Out of warranty repairs are crazy expensive. My suggestion is always getting one that has an ending factory warranty, get mopar maxcare and enjoy. So like a 2019 up. If your good at doing work your self and use multiecuscan software then why not 2017, but even then 2018 up is better they replaced lots of little things like redesigned coolant lines.
