So, when I fought the alluring siren, I brought the Abomination amongst other classes I forgot, and in the first turn she had, she took the Abomination and I went "shit" thinking what he was gonna do to my team Then he healed himself, and I thought 'alright must be preparing himself since he has about 50% hp", but the next turn he healed himself, and the turn after that before coming back to my team, then I thought 'well time to bring out the big guns" and made him transform, but that was cut short when the abomination got mindcontroled again and I went *"s h i t"* scared for what he was gonna do He then turned back into human, and healed, that's all he ever did when he was mind jacked, just stood in front of the siren and healed, making the fight a lot easier than it could have been Is that like, all the Abomination does when he's mind controlled, did I get lucky or created a good strategy by accident without knowing, I have no idea

Definitely possible, there are so many possible strategies and with this boss taking playable characters, it opens up the door to some weird things. Transformation classes may be a good choice to mitigate the damage against you.

I know this is a late reply, but assuming the heroes can only use abilities in the right position as they normally can, the Abomination would only be able to heal if he's in the front row.

@@potawatadingdong your right actually. But i notice in my first run fighting this boss heroes mind controlled sometimes go behind the siren. Im not sure when and why they do that or is it just RNG?

So I've tried this strategy and Siren took my Houndmaster leaving me crazy useful Antiquarian (I believe she even said "keep that crap to yourself lmao" but I probably misheard), Vestal and Hellion. I was not prepared for bleeding damage which obviously Hellhound inflicts a lot and on everyone. And I still managed to beat her losing only aforementioned Antiquarian, but it was by the skin of my teeth, one more dodge on sirens part would have probably spelled doom. I guess the moral of the story is just bring your good team, be prepared to deal with DoTs and anything else your own guys may inflict, and don't try to be a smartass with Antiquarians.

I'm sorry that this didn't work for you. All I could think is your houndmaster may have had a consistently lower debuff resistance than your other heroes causing the targeting into him. Once again, I'm sorry this caused you more trouble than help.

@@HiDdeNSQuiDZGaming Hey you dont need to be sorry its not your fault. I'm just posting so that people would know taking Antiquarian is not a foolproof strategy and shit may happen. Its quite possible Hellhound had lower resistances I didn't pay much attention to stats until this battle. I'm still very new to the game and btw your guides generally help a lot with early bosses ;)

Excellent, glad to hear! I was sad to see this though because I know the annoyance of losing heroes to boss fights. The antiquarian strategy is more rng based so it can be more tricky and unreliable if it doesn't work. Thank you for adding to the community.

Once again you gave stellar advice. Before the siren fight I just popped holy water (gives a +30% debuff resistance) on my squad all except for antiquarian, she got stolen and because of the aforementioned holy water her festering vapors didn't even poison or bleed any of my teammates. siren was dead in three rounds.

Went into this blind, my Ocultist named Man was hit several times on Deaths Door and basically refused to die. My Man At Arms called Thundercock carried the entire battle.

In my experience she does usually target the Antiquarian, but not every time and I wouldn't say that bringing one is a "safe" strategy by itself. To make the fight more reliable, here's some more tips to consider... 1) Charm messes with party order, so give everyone skills for both front & back; avoid position-specific trinkets 2) Take stuns on multiple characters, and stun whoever gets charmed, as they only stay charmed for 2 turns 3) Avoid single characters with high base damage (Highwayman, Hellion, Leper) but give whole team damage skills 4) Choose damage bonuses that don't apply when turned against your own team, such as +vs Eldritch and +vs marked Technically I believe the Charm can also be intercepted by a Guard skill, but personally I'd be wary of doing this in case they end up Guarding the Siren instead!

That's true. The antiquarian isn't a sure fire strategy so having a back up plan is good.

no dont do this because they seem to have nerfed this and I've never had the siren take the Antiquarian in 2 fights so far. I assume the devs cinsider this a bug which if you ask me is very poor game design

First time the Siren took my Antiquarian and I made easy work. Against the Alluring Siren she bypassed my Antiquarian and took my Leper who proceeded to deal heavy damage to my Grave Robber and Occultist eading to their deaths. My antiquarian bled out shortly thereafter. I was able to escape with the Leper once he came back to my side... Back to the drawing board.

Charmed heroes can be pulled back to your side by using Move Skills ( Pull ) such as Bounty Hunter's Come Hither. It happened to my run.

Hello, fairly new player here. I got both extremely lucky and unlucky. Instead of seducing my Antiquarian the Siren stole my uber-buffed highwayman that I had also safeguarded with the Antiquarian camp buff that boosts resistances. So I’m desperately trying to outheal my highwayman’s crits with my Vestal, Antiquarian and Houndmaster for 4 turns. And I manage to do so, I get him back! I hit a riposte to minimize the agro and move him to the front line. My Antuquarian gets stolen, attacks HHM on first turn, gets riposted with a crit for her entire hp. She goes on death’s door, gets stressed by the crit, gets afflicted with Selfish. I am sweating bullets and praying she will do whatever other than hit my riposting HHM again… It works. Somehow she kept passing turns due to her affliction, so I would get her back, heal her, she would then get stolen do nothing to help the Siren. The fight was quite easy from then on, but the first riposte crit was scary. Anyways, thanks for the guides, I find them very informative and I truly appreciate you making them.

Sadly the antiquarian strat is not always reliable but the siren herself is not too difficult even without the cheese method.

Once you get a hang of it the game becomes more enjoyable. This strategy works fairly well but is not 100 reliable.

This really helps! I've been getting my shit kicked in by The Siren recently because I just didn't bring good enough damage dealers out of fear of them being taken and ruining my day. I realize that I just need an antiquarian/to pop a holy water on my Guys I Really Don't Want Taken now though lmao

@@HiDdeNSQuiDZGaming Okay check this out. I had a really good scout just before that section of the dungeon with the siren. I knew what room she was in. Just before entering the room I right clicked on the Antiquarian and turned off all her combat and other abilities. All she could do was move or pass. This was kind of cheating in my thinking but very fun when the siren lured her over to the other side and the Antiquarian did absolutely nothing except stand there. I just found out that the four abilities that a character has turned on are not, that is again, not locked to the four that you pick at the beginning of the quest. I always took the step of picking my four talents or abilities before embarking on a quest just assuming that they could not be changed during a quest. Now I understand that you can change them any time except during combat. This will make dungeon management somewhat easier. Hope you are having lot of fun with the game I sure am.

I came here during my week 10ish radiant test run. Now I came back on Week 64 Darkest and on my Champion tier Siren fight. I guess a High Accuracy Leper is required here, since you emphasized that with those massive 66 DAMAGE! OwO

The siren targeted my grave robber and then abomination before my antiquarian, then my grave robber attacked Dismas who had riposte up, long story short I lost a champion grave digger

I am sorry to hear. It seems like recently this has not been working well for people. If you need to try again, I would take in a person like a highwayman and maybe a Plague doctor. You need some good reliable raw damage and the siren does aoe abilities that can be riposted on.

Another strat that i found in youtube was using debuff resist trinkets. I think filthyrobot used this strat but i dont know if the chances of being mind controlled depends on the debuff stat

I believe before patches, the siren's call was debuff chance based. They then changed it to the percentage but forgot to change the code where it affects the lowest debuff individual. It's not 100% but it holds some truth.

Took in a graverobber for the first time in my life and it kept targeting her, she dodged the charm 3 times before she was finally taken and by then I had already killed the boss. Easiest boss ever lmfao.

When I fought this boss the Antiquarian was never taken. I think this strat needs to be relooked at and reworked. Took forever to burn her down because she kept pulling the leper.

Sorry to hear. Overall, she isn't terrible so if you want a different strategy, try a highwayman and some other quick bursting individuals. Leper's are good just have to be careful about them being taken, but I have used lepers well.

For the most part, the siren is pretty easy, the only thing to watch out for is bringing a leper and having them destroy your whole party. That is a rarity though because they can be moved to the wrong position or use useless skills.

Did they change her target priority for the call since this was posted? Ive fought the siren 4x, and this last time i equipped two debuff resist trinkets getting a 150 & 130 resist chance. Antiquarian had 80 and my other had 90. Still hasnt pulled my antiquarian but maybe twice on 4 fights now. Two of those fights she never got called at all. 🤨

I did notice that the antiquarian was not being taken too much in mine either near the end. For the most part, she still isn't that bad if you want to keep her around since she can increase dodge or work with a HWM in a riposte strategy.

I thought a bounty hunter and arbalist would work fine... Bounty hunter marks, and uses claim bounty on siren whilst arbalist uses sniper shot. Unless the siren specifically takes the bounty hunter and marks someone then takes the bounty hunter/arbalist and shoots that exact same person, you should be able to kill the siren before anything bad happens... Would this work?

There is a small chance that it could happen but if you have 2 healing skills you should be fine.

@@HiDdeNSQuiDZGaming worked well! I brought my duelist and bounty in front with vestal and arbalist behind Siren dead with no casualties afflictions or major injury! Edit: should also mention I got an unlucky collector just before the boss and still managed

The boss is very annoying but you can burst her down fairly quickly if you don't like the antiquarian route. Riposte is pretty good on her as she has aoe attacks.
