Hello from Tarpon Springs FL. You earned my subscription selection at the 1st video. I must learn the Bobin knot. I have lost two many topwater lures on the cast due to knots coming undone from eye rod fatigue. Got to buy one or two of those bobins 1st.

They are very useful as you dont get bored learning things from long drawn out videos that can be done in a few minutes. I live in Scotland but my Cousin is an E And E Doctor in Sydney Hospital and i also have past relations from Victoria. Great job guys. Brilliant videos. Steve in Scotland.

Matt Watson's great great grandfather was a triple Scottish fly-fishing champ and emigrated to New Zealand in the 1880's, Matt himself is from South Auckland and is pretty famous for hosting the New Zealand made ITM fishing show. If you check the headlines, NZ fisherman (spearfisherman) ain't too welcome in Sydney these days haha 😅. Matt usually films in NZ and the pacific islands, this episode looks like Fiji to me. Hope you get a chance to toss some hooks in NZ Steve, good fishing m8 👍

A few questions....Isn't the FG (fine grip) knot stronger and lower profile? I only want to learn & use the one. What are your thoughts on the pros & cons of the PR versus the FG? Which hole to i put the tag end through at the end of tying the "Lefty's loop' knot? and you mention the pros & cons of trebles vs single stickbait hooks, but what about the double hooks that come on a lot of stickbaits like the ones that come on the waxwings (like the sort you left on the tree up north). Cheers for the rubberband tip, I have been having the exact tangling problem with storing my poppers & stickbaits. May I offer a tip I found with keeping my lure hooks from getting blunted & saves fingers when rummaging through one's lures. Get a whole lot of brightly coloured foam ear plugs (cheap ones from the $1 store not 3M ones) that builders use to protect from high decibels. Then just pop one over each hook point (they look like they were made for the job, I would like to market some slightly modified ones as a bizo idea & sell 'em in tackle stores) You can pop them back on when moving from fishing spot to spot so they don't snag anyone or thing. Plus they are great to put in your ears when the wife is complaining about whatever they often do when you are trying to concentrate on fishing. Only downside is you may have to cook a your own kai moana when you get home :)

Roughly 2000mm. Enough so your can have your finger on the PR Knot when casting and the lure hangs about 200 - 300mm off the rod tip.

You know most of pro angler of the bass tournament would never use carbon leader for performing the top water lures..due to that it interferes with bait operation by the weight of the carbon line.. I also never use carbon line but the monofilament line which of Sunline or Varivas

U v Knot sense is great for the whole knot.....no need for such a long knot...i do a 1 inch PR and then half hitches.....that finishing knot tends to come undone with casting(if you dont use knot sense)....best not to use that for casting....just make your last two half hitches really right and uv knot sense over them........u dont want to use flouro for casting either due to its memory effect on the spool....unless hanging off the top guide.....supple mono is better.

Damn son you make the FN knot look like fun compared to that beast. I love to see you do it but I dont want to cry when I get cut or broke off and then try to do that knot in low light levels. That is a good knot that is at 100 % line strength I bet.

@flynnvanancie5318
@flynnvanancie5318 4 жыл бұрын
What are are you fishing for? and what’s the specs of ur rod like what lure weight it can handle. also we’re you are fishing can affect what leader you are using if you’re fishing over sand and mud (estuary’s) you can use lighter leader I’d recommend 80-50 but 50 is quite lite if you are fishing on foul rock and and ledges you might Want to go up to 100-120 but yea hope that helps a bit feel free to ask more questions.👍
