I started watching GL in the early 90s. So I remember when Mallet came to town. One of the first things he did was rid Springfield PD of dirty cops. So for them to turn him into a money stealing cop just goes against everything he was. The whole Marina thing was very, very creepy.

The first Mallet would rather die than become a dirty cop. Mallet was also a loving brother to his little sister. I never saw the 2nd Mallet but it sounds like they really messed up his character. The 2nd Mallet was nice looking too.

I loved Mark Derwin's Mallet...never watched the recast Mallet but he seems so shady - alot different than the orginal Mallet.

Love mallet and francesca the best of all. Great sl n couple. Recasted mallet n dinah were good together. Harley with og alan m. Or gus only. Marina with cyrus.

Isn't it amazing how much The Spaulding Family impacted Mallet's Life. Alan Michael was responsible for him being paralyzed and deaf for a hot minute then Gus is responsible for him being injured because of his heavy addiction to Prescription Pills.

Mark Derwin was the true Mallet. They ruined his character. And Marina was his Goddaughter. That was sick.

Even though I had no strong objection to PHarley (and loved them far more than I liked any of Phillip's post JE's Beth pairings), I would have given them up in a hot minute if it meant my Harley/Mallet would have been reunited. Harley/Mallet FOREVER!!

Girl I'm with you I loved Mallet and Harley together and I think they should had stayed together from the start until Guilding Light was cancelled ..it's hard to believe my show don't come on no more I loved some Guilding Light

I was glad mallet harley ended n that allowed the gus harley supercouple pairing n Harleys best pairing in the show. Also liked og Alan m, n harley.

I loved the first Mallet he was the Good-Looking and I hate they put the Other Mallet with Dinah I loved Mallet with Harley Davidson Cooper they were so much better together

UGH! I am so glad I never saw that part of Mallet life. And I mean really putting him with Marina? He was old enough to be her father. GL really fell apart didn't it? So glad I stopped watching after Jenna died.

I totally had forgotten Mallet's introduction storyline. I loved Mallet & Frank's friendship it was a conscious effort by TPTB to fill whole in show left by Phillip-Rick's friendship being off campus. It at least sort of worked. Boy, I hated Julie. I really liked Harley & Mallet (although I still loved Harley-AM more), esp when still just fantasizing about each other. It was great soap. Loved the paralyzed sl too. I kind of like new Harley-Mallet too. Of course Mallet-Dinah rocked.

I only watched GL once in awhile in its last years. I didn't like Mallet/Marina. Yuck. To me he belonged with Dinah.

@@cathylanders2479 He was awesome with Dinah. I loved the way they transitioned for frenemies to lovers, then finally to husband & wife. Robert & Gina had chemistry. The writers really struck gold with those 2.

Wouldn't it be something if Gary Swanson came back to Springfield who had a grudge against Phillip and Alan athough he's dead and he discovers that Phillip killed Grady Foley. Also, isn't it amazing to know that Mallet's Sister is named Francesca and that's the name of Otalia & Frank's Baby.
