I miss Guiding Light so much. It was honestly a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was born in 1964 and my mother literally introduced me to the show on her knee.

I knew this was coming eventually after Jerry Von Deers passing. One of the strongest side characters in Guiding light. Blake and Ross. No one else comes close.

Ross was such a great character on this show! It’s really sad how they did both him and Rick dirty with his death.

Also if you watched the early days they destroyed Floyd Parker too. Making him be Andy Ferris killer was absolutely ridiculous. He was everyone's friend for years and the reason that he did was for his love of Beth. Please they never elaborated that he cared for her anymore than a dear friend

They had The Mask Ball and Truman Capote had it in the 1960's. The Late Fashion Designer Halston created them, and attended although he wasn't invited. He was such a Backstabber where he told everyone's business out that was told to him in confidence

The Guiding Light was the bomb, a stand out, not like any of the other soaps. The characters were RICH. Most of the actors were extremely talented. Ross was a giant. RIP Jerry Von Deers. Americans, we were blessed to have The Guiding Light. Let us remember what America was, always. If we have breath left in us, let's fight those who wish to erase our constitution.

IIRC, Jerry played Ross Marler on Guiding Light for as long as Clint Ritchie played Clint Buchanan on One Life to Live, and then Jerry took over the role of Clint Buchanan when Clint Ritchie died.

His grandchildren referred to him as Papa. In 1961 when mike bauer left he referred to Frederick Bauer as Papa as well.

Beautiful 😍. I still remember his confrontation with Rick after finding out about the twins. He won one of his Emmys for those scenes, and deserved it. 👏 RIP JvD, one of the finest actors I had the pleasure to watch.

So much happened the past 45 years. He debuted in 1979 and Peter Bergman debuted as Dr. Cliff Warner on All My Children. I even heard that Jane Elliot, is part of a soap sewing circle with closeted women that also includes allegedly diedre hall and as you know maureen garrett came out.

In The Netherlands they still show old episodes where it's subtitled the same way that As The World Turns and The Bold & The Beautiful is which has gone under so many names in Europe like Rags, Glamour & Top Modeles in French. In Italy it's known as Sentieri and in Germany it's known as Der Springfield Stories. Also RIP to Lisa Brown.

Ross's problem is that he has to take care of the Women in his Life because he had to be there for "Mama" when his Father died. He has without a doubt the most forgiving soul who forgave blake multiple times no matter what she did.

Can you imagine how surreal it must have been to work with Three Blakes, and Four Dinahs. I also heard that Jane Eliot is Gay in Real life and that Maureen Garrett and her Partner Janet broke up.

Someone should do a Video called "To All The Girls I've Loved Before". He was such a Playa. Also isn't it eerie that he worked with Ian Zering in his Pre Beverly Hills 90210 Days and some say it was inspired by the Gang on another Proctor & Gamble Show Search For Tomorrow. In The UK Adam Woodyat was the spokesperson for Eastenders who started playing Ian Beale in 1985 at 16. He left due to contractual issues but fans hope he will come back. He was also the Spokesperson for Eastenders.
