I really love the game: the fact that you can progress however you like it's a big plus, but later on in the game you have to be able to set your on goals to enjoy it fully, because there's too much to do beside the obvious things (hitting level cap, story, map exploration and the like)

@@red.aspect Hey mate. I am new in GW, 3 weeks in. I don't think few people play it, I think there are a lot. And with the steam release, the numbers are growing. In 3 weeks I never found a zone or an event without players. The problem is with the marketing. I knew about GW 1 and 2 from they're beginning. But didn't want to play them. Why? I don't know, because this is the best mmo I have ever played. People need to just try it. And AN needs to promote they're product more. Me, after 20-30 hours, I decided to sell my dota 2 skins and bought the first 2 expansions immediately. I will buy End of Dragons, but now I am too overwhelmed. I just enjoy every bit of the game. Cheers 🍻

Great video but some little mispronunciations and a misunderstanding in there. Somebody already mentioned the "Sylvari", the dragon is called "Zhaitan", not "Zhatian". The updates related to the re installment of living world season 1 actually include the five episodes and are labeled as such: - Episode 1: Flame and Frost - April 19th - Episode 2: Sky Pirates - May 24th - Episode 3: Clockwork Chaos - July 19th - Episode 4: Tower of Nightmares - September 13th - Episode 5: Not yet announced, speculated release in November The other stuff you listed were additional updates, with the challenge modes being content updates for the latest expansion and - the name suggests it - actually challenging endgame content. Also, GW2 is actually not very similar to WoW - it tries to do a lot of things very differently. Main differences would be: - Horizontal progression: Neither max level nor best gear has increased over the last 10 years. You still get new options (specialisations, gear stat combinations) and the mastery system which among others unlocks new ways of getting around the world. This also means that you can take extended breaks without falling behind. - Huge focus on exploration and open world in PVE (instead of raids and dungeons): Ever felt like the MMO has been reduced to a pretty lobby for instanced content with some daily chores you are required to do in order to be effective? That is not what you will see in GW2! Here the whole open world matters and you are encouraged to go out there and explore. Although instanced group content exists, many players haven't set a foot into them for months or even years because there is so much stuff to do in the open world. Also due to the horizontal progression and level scaling, not one bit of the game has become irrelevant even though there were several expansions. - Follow your own agenda in your own pace instead of being told what to do. While there is a decent story to follow even on max level, you can ignore it (or at least large portions of it) if you don't want to. You can decide to explore any map you want. You can do jumping puzzles, achievement hunting, hunt world bosses and map meta events or work on your legendary or ascended items (highest tier items). Or just chill and enjoy the scenery. This freedom of choice actually can be a struggle for people who are used to getting told, what their next steps should be. Also there is no time pressure. With subscription based you get the feeling that you have to play in order to get your moneys worth of play and progress out of the game. With no sub fee you can do as much and as little as you want. Of course you can talk about the drawbacks of the ingame shop featuring cosmetics and QoL, but it is not pay to win and you can convert gold to the premium currency of the shop if you want. - Encouraging working together: Luckily things have changed in other games as well, but do you remember racing other players for a resource node? Or the kill stealing on mobs, expecially quest or rare mobs? Maybe people queuing up in order to fight and kill a quest mob? All the stuff that basically made you feel like you are competing with other players although you are allied to them? You will not see that kind of stuff happen in GW2. Ressource nodes and loot are personal, nobody can steal it from you. You get credit for killing enemies as long as you have hit once or supported a player hitting once. You also can revive other players and get experience as reward for that. Instead of traditional quests you have "dynamic events" that scale to the amount of players taking part. Some of them actually require more people taking part, with world bosses and map meta events being the pinnacle of that, some supporting 50-80 players (in fact we don't even know the upper limit). This incentive to bring people together also resulted in the community ingame being among the friendliest and most welcoming communities you can find in the genre (of course there are still some bad apples and areas with more toxicity, but you will probably have to hunt for it).

@@red.aspect Where do you get this feeling from? If you are ingame, you'll most likely see a lot of people in every single zone, unless you are playing at really odd times for your region. From the outside perspective, arena net isn't really good at marketing this game. It also has kind of bad luck with releases of major competitors. The latest expansion was released shortly after Lost Ark and near Elden Ring. Similar stuff happened for their previous expansion releases. Also, don't look at the steam numbers. Most people don't use steam but the separate launcher, as you can not link your previously created accounts with steam and would have to start from scratch.

@@Arrow333 I can't say anything about the game's environment, because I'm not playing it. However, I see little engagement about Gw2 on the internet, it's like the game has very little interest in comparison to others.

@@red.aspect I see. As I said arenanet isn't really good on the marketing side of things. It is probably the weakest point about the game. Additionally I have learned that the interest is different in different regions. Specifically, the game interest is larger in the EU than in the US, in some countries it actually tops FF14 over here. So (social) media coverage is also sometimes not in english, but in different european languages. Still, if you watch videos about top MMORPGs to play or similar ranking videos on youtube, you usually will find GW2 listed as one of them. Heck, even Josh Strife Hayes usually recommends this game regularly and mentions it in a positive manner. If you got interested, just look it up here or on twitch or try it out: You can play the base game for free, only need to buy the expansions if you like it. Restrictions are only in place to prevent bots and gold sellers. The game is available on steam by now (or use the website). :)

I just hit my first 100h in the game, I have no idea what is happening and still afraid of joining groups for raids/strikes and fractals because I don't know the mechanics or where to go to enter it. Maybe after 200h I'll do it :D

How to Fractal kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHLHmIemgctqo8U Mukluk explaning it in a very simple way. How to Strike kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKrRXn6aormFlbs again Mukluk explaining very simple. This are Strikes from before EoD so most of them are easier then those from End of Dragons. If you wnat to start easy Shiverpeaks pass is super easy, i really mean it, it is super easy and a good start if new.

@@uniquename111 I enjoy mukluk's videos, but he's usually terrible at explaining things for new players, even tho that's who he tries to target for a lot of videos. He oversimplifies and inserts enough jokes that it's confusing for someone who doesn't already know how to do it. The wiki suffers from a similar problem, imo.

@@craigslitzer4857 You are litterally the first person ever saying this. But that is ok if you feel it is too hard then you find something else that suits you better. There is so many youtubers that can give you the answer you seek and one of them must be what you look for. As for wiki i don't know what to say. I used it every day for 10 years and never found a issue with that. Not sure what you need since wiki tell you exactly what it is, have a picture of it, telling you where to find or get it with a map and a picture of the thing, npc or what ever it is that you need to talk too. I mean it is litterally show and tell.

Wow, nice video, but as ppl sdaid or were cormecting you, my ears hurt a little, also the title should be more of summary of gw2 rather then if it is worth, but your edit is interesting and your voice sounds nice. I think that things from the game played by you would be much more interesting or at least i would watch it much rather over this

GW2 is an amazing game. This video on the other hand is dadly researched, basicly just copy pasting other ppl's old content. Almost no effort spent on it.
