Could you imagine having a fluid combat system with lightsabers. Dodging, blocking, running/jumping while auto-attacking and casting different attacks.

one thing to add is that GW2 Level Cap is 80, and has been that way since Launch, so once you get Max Level Gear then there is no more Gear Grind, and the only thing to really grind for is Achievements and Skins etc.. This is great if you ever have to take long breaks as you do not have to play catch up when you come back to the game. And since everyone will basically the same Gear Level, especially in PvP and WvW it really comes down to how good you are vs. I have better Gear.

U are half right.... As new expansions comes new classes comes and with them new stat versions of gear also comes - if you only have exotic gear you need to change everything out with new gear, if you have acended gear you can stat swap but it will cost gold/recoures to do so and replace lost runes/sigils. With the amount of classes (9) and elite spec (4 per class atm) we have 36 "classes" that all need diferent equipment - this leave us with legendary as it is free stat swap (also free skin change and can freely put in and out sigils/runes) as the ultimate QOL to strive for. So even if you think you are "done" just because you have legendary, you now have the freedom to theorycraft yourself and modify each of the 36 options to you hearts content, build broad for open world survival, build niche strategical builds for a single purpous (like kiting a raid boss etc) - there is endless options.

Personally, I found SWTOR's methods to "encourage" you to pay for the game to be more invasive to my experience. The fact I was given or found items in SWTOR that couldn't be used by my free account irked me 10x more than GW2 restricting my bank size by default, as an example. I had a similar issue when playing ESO for free. Quality of Life upgrades make sense to me, but no need to make free players feel like 2nd class citizens for not engaging in a subscription. Again, personal opinion.

I agree I hate the credit cap for f2p and preferred. Although I don't do much of the auction house but 1 million doesn't buy much when it comes to wanting high end matching cosmetics. Though I found 1 mil enough to gear under 80 content to be sufficient

SWTOR is more fun when you join a guild. The leveling up takes some times but once you get 80 level and finished all the stories I think that's when the real mmo rpg game starts. Playing the daily pvp, flashpoints with other players not that bad. Some guild makes their own events for example my guild made some competition between the players it was whoever decorates their stronghold in the funniest way wins the armor set unfortunately I didn't won the competition but it was fun.

I tend to personally play different MMO's for different reasons. When I want a story, I play SWTOR, ESO and FF14 When I want to do end-game instanced content, I play WoW and FF14 When I want to participate in a lot of group activities, I play GW2 When I want to explore the world, I play GW2 and ESO When I want to play large scale PvP content, I play GW2 and ESO When I want to mindlessly kill things, I play BDO When I want to do mindless repetitive tasks, I play OSRS

SWTOR and GW2 ive both played since launch and both ive had breaks from and played the other. I would say the levelling experience is better in SWTOR mainly because im a star wars fan and the stories for each class are great. Guild Wars2 is a big event and cosmetic sandbox. Ascended Gear is very attainable and it is Max stats. Legendary gear is peak gear with the same stats but is more about accessibility as youll be able to change stats on the fly is more of a grind to obtain. If you're not bothered about ease of switching stats well then thats it for gear. Same for ascended and legendary weapons. At this point I kind of felt lost as it is about choosing you're own direction and hunting down what you want from the game. It becomes a cosmetic hunt for me. Finding new ascended weapons. I dont like making alts either but atleast SWTORs stories are interesting and i also enjoy the gear grind and PvP gameplay. Currently i would say SWTOR is number 1 but I hope it brings out more content.

You can adjust the difficlty in swtor FP and every content, you can run fp on master mode and have your hard dungeon with extra loot

100% GW2 IMO! I've played it for many years, stopped playing it and come back to it at least 2 times in between other games, and I'm about to return to it again soon. I've been playing SWTOR too for a while and it's leveling process is long and booooooring compared to GW2. Besides GW2 have so much more to offer like massive multiplayer open world events, raids, jumping puzzles (so much fun), dungeons, crafting, mounts (also flying mounts), fashion contests, season festivals and tons upon tons of loot everywhere!

I have played both titles and swtor does have emaculate story for all 8 classes. I havent finished the knights of the fallen. The concept is cool but the story feels very linear and boring. Combat and graphics are good for me, rotations are easy enough to get a feel for it. Pvp especially unranked is pretty dead imo. I came from Jung Ma. So pvp was popular back then but it seems dead. Lobbies arent full like they used to. I havent played all of the race stories or end game in guild wars but the combat is crazy, exploration is great. Story is okay, i had to do my own research on what is going on in guild wars. I didnt know the charr and humans basically had the magical version of a nuclear apocalypse plus a cold war. Which kind of brought interest to me. I felt like 2 doesn't really welcome that much that is new to the genre. I do feel the gear grind is slightly easier for guild wars. Though i have yet to get a piece of ascended yet. Swtor is good with their mods and enhancement vendors on the fleet.

I will also add GW2 has absolute fire PVP and its very competitive, very clear, and very accessible to a new player. I placed bronze and climbed to gold my first season just from playing a couple hours a day for about a week.

It’s simple I’ve played both. SwToR. Monthly fees for a game with lack luster content and dying community. The game is officially on maintenance mode. PvP horrible and boring. You need up doing the same thing over and over on pve due to lack of content. GW2: amazing. Buy the game and or expansions and that’s it. Pve always always something going on. You will always see people even in old content like like othe lr mmo games when an expansion comes out old content is dead. Not how it is on guild wars. Live metas, raid, dungeons, fractals, strikes. The PvP god tier and wvw no other game had this and it’s great

I love Star Wars, have played both SWG and SWTOR since beta, but it's a dying game. Lately the "expansions" have been less than 1 hour long, and they promised us a 10 year anniversary year full of things, which turned out to be a lie, and absolutely nothing was done. Quality is still there, but here's hoping Broadsword can fix this. I am back playing on the new APAC server and it just feels dead, even though I know the game isn't dead yet. The combat system in this game is absolute dogshit compared to WoW. Guild Wars 2 on the other hand is just improving, it's combat is fluid and fun, and mounts are superior all other MMOs (to the point World of Warcraft just copied them), and the open world events and world bosses are always swarming with (mostly) friendly people. It's large scale world vs world (vs world) pvp is unmatched by any other MMO (it's a bit like Ashran if you've ever done any PvP in WoW), and more importantly, it's still fun if you are a PvE only player and hate PvP (like me).

NEVER waste your time with Gw2. Not only is the game one of the most boring MMOs ever made, none of the items matter, community is obsessive fanbitches and Arenanet does not give a fuck about their customers in any way. Im not saying SWTOR is worth it either but, for the love of any/every thing holy, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON GW2.
