This game is broken. It’s the definition of people making a game that know nothing about the sport. Players like Sampras and McEnroe are unplayable. And why dose Federer only have skills that target serve and volley players. The patches only ruined the game and favored certain players. Waste of money. Topspin4 is better by far.

@beruga5 күн бұрын
This is the best guide on TE4 mechanics, thanks so much for making it! One thing I'm still confused about is the movement. It seems like the player has a hard time changing direction, and yet when I see high level gameplay they are able to move much quicker. Is there a stutter step mechanic? What am I missing here?
@machetegaming4 күн бұрын
Glad you've enjoyed the video! From what I understand and gathered from others about movement, there are 2 main factors: deceleration and anticipation. Deceleration - High level players tend to stop moving a moment before they know the direction of the opponent's shot. Anticipation - Sometimes you can predict the direction of opponent's shot. i.e. You just played long cross court and they will hit the ball quite early. This means they likely won't go down the line cuz the ball will hit the net. And so you can start stepping towards opponent's cross court shot, with high chance of guessing it right.
@beruga4 күн бұрын
Interesting...I guess deceleration is necessary because the game punishes changing direction. So you need to stop your movement first. How about when you're actually moving in a given direction? Is there a period of time when you accelerate before reaching max speed? I notice that the character will start running after holding a direction for a little bit.

I had no goals until I started raiding. I learned how to play/gear and then legendary items to work towards.. from that I learned to make my own goals, and it works with ANYTHING in gw2. You just gotta know what you want.. talk to other players, best way to understand what you want out of gw2.

Speaking on the Career mode: It’s horribly made a the energy system is a horrible design choice. For example I could start in the ATP Finals in December with 100% energy and by the end of the first match I’d have 70-80% stamina and by the end of the group stage I’d have 30% risking injury (happens when you are 35% and below). Basically it’s impossible to play ‘real tennis’ mode or ‘topspin’ mode because they are too long and EVEN when I did ‘short set’ I sometimes found myself losing 25% a game. Yes I upped stamina but it really doesn’t matter. Also the wide service meta is used by the ai to somewhat of an effect as if I’m playing someone like sinner for example, who has a great serve attribute, it’s almost impossible to win that point if his serve is correct (which from hard difficulty up which is what I play on is 60% of the time) Finally the only takeaway I have from Topspin2k25 is that the ‘Topspin Academy’ is actually very informative and good at teaching playstyles, the devs vision was to definitely make this game tactical but instead the usual 2k money grabbers decided 50-80 pounds wasn’t enough. Shambles but it’s the only tennis game I’ve played in a hot minute so I guess it’s in the same boat at the situation with EAFC

Have you played tiebreak? Will you recommend to buy it on preorder?
@machetegaming6 күн бұрын
Yes, I played Tiebreak. You can find a few videos on my channel about it. At first, I was very excited and hopeful about its potential, but the closer we are to the release date the more sceptical and concerned I am for its gameplay. Developers haven't fixed core gameplay issues (as per current update) that players kept asking for. I would recommend waiting with buying Tiebreak until full release.

i wish there was a documentation for TE4, like wtf is breath/energy/shorttermform/stress, how does it affect players, im playing career, and i cannot find any explanation about that, like for breath is a little bit obvious, when you run out of breath you miss more shots, but what is the percentage ? and for energy it seems to go down very very slow, like should i make my oponent(CPU) tired and play around that? the concept is good, but it is not well explained, poorly simulated for when you reduce number of sets/number of games per sets, i guess it only works if you wanna play full game sets, but in career mode thats too long wtf is focus and these mental stats, wtf is muscle tone, wtf is acceleration trait, too many questions i can see why the game doesnt appeal for new players,

There's documentation, just unfortunately not in the game (tooltips on character sheet would be nice so we don't have to search for explanations). You can check my first video guide ("getting started") where I linked two documents written by the dev. You'll find there explanations for stats.

(I've never played TE4, but I am assuming it plays the same way as TE3, fundamentally) One tip for aiming: as soon as you hold a shot button to hit it, your player plants themselves in position and starts preparing to hit the ball. That means you want to plant your player in position when they are within reach of the ball, otherwise they will miss it. So only start aiming when you are holding down a shot button, and only try to hit the ball when your player is within react of the ball. With practice, you will instinctively know how big the aiming indicator is and how fast it moves in either direction, after you decide to turn off the aiming indicator

For me it was a lot of fun, BUT: In every turnament i played in the last rounds (semi/Final) against Alcaraz, Fritz or Medvedev, sometimes (previously) againgst Tiafoe and Shelton! Berrettini and Murray hardly ever. The first tournament rounds against fictional opponents. That fact was pretty boring! Tournaments with such less real Players! 😬 Support Team and Coaches with tasks are good, trainings and special events too!

You'll eventually get there. I've now clocked about 100hrs on the game and now can beat most players on Pro 10/Master 1. I was mainly playing pro 5/pro 6 for a while before, but then turned the previews off for danger zone and aiming and it's actually helped me improve a lot because i'm now really reading my opponent's movements and racket direction, along with really concentrating on how i time the ball and where i'm directing it. That being said, Novak Rafa and Fed still often beat me when I play them on pro 10!

The run movement is still weird, not realistic like what we see on tennis games. Something is wrong with the foot movement and body is stiff up while running. Needs to correct this. Maybe make the run animation in TS2k25 as the basis on how the proper foot and body movement were done. From there make the necessary adjustments.
