Guild Wars Beginners Guide in 2024 | Prophecies | Episode 02 | The Searing of Ascalon

Hey there everyone!
Thank you so much for tuning in and checking out my second video in a new beginners guide to Guild Wars Prophecies in 2024!
Guild Wars Prophecies is the first campaign in the Guild Wars series, a popular online multiplayer role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by ArenaNet. The Prophecies campaign was released in 2005 and served as the starting point for players entering the world of Tyria.
The story of Guild Wars Prophecies revolves around a prophecy that foretells the rise of an ancient and powerful evil known as the Elder Dragon named Zhaitan. The prophecy predicts that Tyria will be plunged into a time of great turmoil, and heroes from various races must come together to face this impending threat.
Players begin their journey in the continent of Tyria, where the human kingdom of Ascalon is celebrating the annual festival called the "Day of the Titans." However, this joyous occasion takes a dark turn when the Charr, a fierce and warlike race, launch a devastating invasion on Ascalon. The Charr, led by their Shaman caste, seek to conquer the human lands and claim them as their own.
This episode we take our very first steps into the starting mission and leaving the starting zone that is Ascalon! We learn the dire fate of the doomed city and we are wisked away into a City on the brink of collapse! We explore the ruins of Ascalon and what is left after the Searing!
Next week's will involve our first main mission of the game and how to go about completing missions in general!

I played GW1 when lauched back in 2005, but never finished the campaign. Now that I´m waiting for the next WoW expansion, I started a new character (W/Mo, now lvl 8), and if this series continue I will follow it. Good work.

Oooo your right! I don't really need it actively unless I come across an animal I want as a companion right? I'll do that next time I'm on :)

Yeah you'd have to give your current pet to a tamer to get a new pet, but also this frees up a slot for a usable skill. In pvp you still need both pet skills to bring your pet and heal them.

@Desmondous cool. You can also change your 2nd profession at any point. I was thinking it would be really cool to see you run a tank build. You can switch your 2nd prof to elementalist and there are a TON of earth skills that actually grant you tons of armor, resistances, health, etc. It could be a really cool playstyle acting as a tank that balls up agro for your party. The ranger skill whirling defense is also REALLY good for tanking
