The stone tiles are classy and classic, well worth the wait for Stan. You read my mind-as I was about to type a question about your refrigerator woes, you answered it. Geez, Jeremy, what a royal PITA! I'm so sorry you had to deal with that. Good grief. Concerning the pot filler problem you encountered, you and my husband are great problem solvers. That's what is missing in our peeps today, the ability to think outside the box and make things work for you. Bravo! Looks fabulous, my friend. ~Cynthia

I had an uncle named Stanley everyone called Stanko, it was funny that people used to call him Stan the Man too. He was the hardest worker I ever saw even when he was supposed to be relaxing he was impossible to keep up with. A whole bunch of the family went camping and that crazy man chopped enough wood for ten camping trips.

We did a full kitchen remodel in 2017. The only major appliance Kitchenaid makes thats any good is their dishwashers. We also bought their commercial style range which has a thermal door latch for the self cleaning cycle that breaks too easy if you bump it lifting the oven door back on the hinges after you remove it for whatever reason. Cost us $280 to replace the little obscure latch. Whirlpool makes excellent french door refrigerators. LOVE ours.

@TdrSld2 жыл бұрын
Heads up on the back splash tile, you will want to seal the stone and grout before cooking with oils (frying). I have had this exact stone and harrying bone lay out and after just 2 years the oil spray had coated and soaked into the stone darkening them more than the rest of the stones in the kitchen back splash. And I could never get it all out and off the stones, wall always feels sticky and greasy.

Really beautiful materials and superbly installed. You have clearly done an excellent job ensuring a quality build with high quality materials. Speaking of which, what is the deal with defective and very expensive appliances?! I am hearing about this from numerous sources! And the pot filler..I understand the attraction, especially for a household that does a lot of food preservation..but a faucet over the stove? it just feels like an accident waiting to happen! In any event, gorgeous kitchen.

Did you let the refrigerator sit in its final spot for at least 24 hours before plugging it in and turning it on? Just curious
@Guildbrookfarm2 жыл бұрын
Supposedly you don’t have to with sealed systems 🤷🏻♂️
@TdrSld2 жыл бұрын
@@Guildbrookfarm I always let them sit for 48 hours before first fire up. I have lost a number of units in the past before an old tech told me to do the 48 hour upright before turning on. He said that even though it's says to keep up right, they always almost get laid damn near flat on there sides at some point in transit.

Great video. In fact all your videos are really good, I've watched the lot! Just one question: I've noticed that there is a distinct echo - is that a "feature" of the microphone, or is it simply that the open plan area is so large? If the latter, are you planning to do anything about the echo?
@Guildbrookfarm2 жыл бұрын
We'll add furniture and area rugs. Should cut down the echo.

A pot-filler is a beautiful addition to a kitchen, BUT is it worth it? You will save one trip, but at the end of the day you have to drag it back to your sink to drain it. Are you using it often? If not, water can get rusty. And of course there is the cost. In a new or remodel cost can be minimum, but as an add on the plumbing bill can add up significantly. There is also the eventuality of developing a leak and there is no drain to catch it. I personally like them, but I can’t justify that it will not get a lot of use.
@emtharlan72012 жыл бұрын
I agree. The only way it makes sense to me is if there's a drain right beside the stove top.
@kaydefreese75862 жыл бұрын
Pot fillers are useful for people who like to can.
@susansmith4932 жыл бұрын
I like to run the water a bit to let out whatever has been sitting in the pipe for too long ...when I fill a pot with water for pasta, potatoes, etc. Pot fillers really didnt make sense for me. I "ran off" the first couple of seconds of water, took it to the sink, dumped it, went back to the range, filled it up with water. I quickly realized faucets need a sink lol. For canning ...it's kind of worth it to some. It's not my preference and seemed silly and trendy. I got rid of it.
