Guile is in a sense, hard because you never fully have access to all his moves at one time, since he's a charge character; if you charge, you lose mobility and the ability to do standing normals at will. Like playing a character in Tekken with multiple stances, you can only access a few key moves at a time, and it makes it somewhat easy to predict when they will do a stance-specific move, since only certain moves can enter that stance. A good guile player will maximize charge, but not do it to the point where it hampers their mobility, and that's a really tough balance to strike.

Guile was what helped me best claw back in the old world warrior version of SF2, somersaulting him when he'd jump off the fence always felt really good

Easy to play, hard to master needs to be the basis for more characters. Barrier to entry should be as low as possible while still maintaining a high skill ceiling. All of this should ideally be supplemented with a good training mode and in-game tutorials that show you what you're doing wrong and how to improve, guiding you to the point where you can do it on your own. I hope whatever FGs come in this next console generation take these lessons to heart.

@@critical9862 No, it's just a matter of the back button being held down. This is why Guiles can throw Sonic Booms as soon as a match starts. It's also why they can throw one immediately after a high blockstun move's animation is finished if they were holding back during that time.

Either a hitbox or a ps4 controller since you can use dpad and analog stick for movements.

@@kikito3850 that's not how hitbox works. If you want to throw a boom you have to let go of the back button and tap forward. SOCDs work like this with standard hitbox: left+right=neutral, up+down=up

It’s just risky because if it’s blocked you will be punished pretty hard. It’s best to use as a finisher because doing it more than once or twice will cause the opponent to expect it.

point system you earn points and you get matched up to players closest to your current rank most of the time this is how it works

Points you get depends on the rank difference between opponents. Higher rank more points, lower rank less points.

Point farming, it use a clever way to make low level players feel progress and high level players have a hard time staying at the top to prevent the same players stay there: Low ranks gain lots of point for each victory, so newbie players rise fast and feel like champs. High ranks lose lots of points for each defeat to keep the top positions unstable and prevent other players from complain "always the same players at the TOP!" That's why many players complain when they reach certain rank and get stuck because they start losing lots of point making the farming harder after speedrun low ranks "Why I can reach platinum?".
