So what would have happened if his object of desire had been a Buddhist or Hindu or Moslem? We will never know I guess. I also would not discount the early Catholic influence. None of this negates his experience of course or really affects whether it's true or not.

My journey from atheism was completely different. I had the profound spiritual experience first when I had no real religious knowledge or philosophical knowledge or anything intellectual to back it up or rationalise it. I just had the complete spiritual heart experience but I had no idea what it was except I knew down to my bones it was God. But I was an atheist and not even looking for God. I didn't even want to believe but I could not deny the most truest experience of my life bar none. It wasn't till years later that I learned enough 'intelligence' to back up my profound life changing experience to understand it more in the light of what this guy is talking about, So it was interesting to hear this guy said he had the intellectual transformation before he had the spiritual one.

@@rl7012 God, before the foundation of the world, chose to make certain individuals the objects of His unmerited favor or special grace (Mark 13:20; Ephesians 1:4-5; Revelation 13:8; Revelation 17:8). These individuals from every tribe, tongue and nation were chosen by God for adoption, not because of anything they would do but because of His sovereign will (Romans 9:11-13; Romans 9:16; Romans 10:20; 1 Corinthians 1:27-29; 2 Timothy 1:9). God could have chosen to save all men (He certainly has the power and authority to do so), and He could have chosen to save no one (He is under no obligation to save anyone). He instead chose to save some and leave others to the consequences of their sin (Exodus 33:19; Deuteronomy 7:6-7; Romans 9:10-24; Acts 13:48; 1 Peter 2:8).

Wouldn't be an all-seeing all knowing God if he failed at that task would he? But wait a minute, it looks like the overwhelming majority of the world's population follows Islam. According to latest polls only 30% of the world's population is christian, and its declining at accelerating rates in the US and Europe. Isn't that interesting? This really underscores a comment I made on Lex Fridman's interview with Jack Barsky, a retired KGB agent who adopted Christianity later in life. As one who was rather active in his beliefs, I left catholicism behind not because it's intellectually suicidal to believe in God, but it IS a self-serving sort of anasthetic to ascribe works of man as coming from some sort of celestial divinity - especially when they just do not hold up under historical scrutiny or real-world practice. I think most who embrace religion in adulthood do it for one of three reasons: a romantic relationship, cowardice around mortality, or guilt around past actions. The idea that one can just repent or buy their way into a blissful afterlife is Paul's distortion, not the teachings of a middle eastern Jewish social activist.

@@martinploughboy988 the intellectual suicide is to take the absolute position that God either does or does not exist. To take demonstrably Human-sourced documents as infallible and divine is to add insult to the mortal injury of your reason. There is nothing about biblical texts that would pass muster to any reasonable historian or detective. Any belief system requires courage in order to be held open to scrutiny and challenge, and discarded if it does not hold up. I completely understand that most folks will hold fast to their beliefs and fight against changing it - there's so much comfort to be had there. It's still purely transactional - act a certain way and get some sort of literal or ethereal reward. I'm all about the mysteries of energy and information; but history teaches you all you need to know about how ancient humans related to their realities differently, based on region and culture. I love these videos because all religions have them. I watched a similar one three days ago whose title was something along the lines of "how a christian converted to hunduism". You can literally find many videos on youtube where people from different religions converted to a different one because they finally found their true faith. Christians becoming muslims, witches, pagans, buddhists, etc. Can all religions be true? hmm that's an easy one, no. Can all religions be false? hmm, yes. Can one of them be the true one and the others false? hmm, it can. So how to find out the truth... faith maybe? hmm no, all these people claim to have strong faith and their religions can't all be true. With faith you can believe in anything. Faith is not a reliable path to truth. How else could one know? the bible? hmm, no. Muslims will say and stand by the Quran. And the Jews the Talmud. and the Hindu the baghavad gita. And the zoroastrians the avesta. hmm no holy books won't do it either especially if you have read them yourself honestly and not have them cherry picked for you. I need convincing evidence. Not trying to rain on anyone's parade here but i find guillaume's story to be nothing different from what all other people in all those other videos are saying about their own conversion stories to other religions. I want to know the truth and faith will never give me that because faith can lead you to just about any conclusion. And when it comes to matters that can lead to innocent people getting blown up in planes, killed in crusades, etc., knowing as many true things as one can is the rational and perhaps most empathetic position anyone can take to avoid such misconceptions.

Interesting to know, after following a woman into Christianity, did he seriously look at extra- biblical material - scholarship, to weigh the likelihood or not that these stories reflect reality? Did he ponder Christianity’s immense problem, that of suffering - in the context of the ‘loving’ god. If not, it’s just another story of bury- the-head-in-the-sand and just believe…’ faith’. The whole story is so problematic- if you *are* actually looking to believe as many true things in life as possible- that I find it hard to grasp how non- indoctrinated, intelligent people could actually believe virgin birth, rising from the dead, sin, always sin, heaven, hell, the hidden god, etc. One does not need god in order to, as an adult, have a change in perspective about life lived thus far, re-examine values, change the way you relate to,and move in,the world. That’s what your moral sense, your understanding of ethical behaviour, your observation about how your decisions are effecting those around you; your cognition - your frontal lobe as well as emotional centres. First off, he didn't " follow a woman into Christianity" . She merely pointed him towards Christ early on...then she was out of the picture. Suffering is an " immense problem" for YOU, because of your lack of knowledge about Christian beliefs. You're right about changing your perspective without God.... it's possible. But it won't matter. When you truly believe, as some of the most brilliant people on earth do, your entire perspective about all that MATTERS will change.

@@matthiasbrandt1252 It’s not the first time, nor even the second, that I’ve had a Christian say to me ‘suffering may be a problem for YOU’. I am struck by the the inhumanity, the callousness, the bluster of that comment. I did not say intelligent people don’t believe the Christian tale, I said I cannot believe how a non-indoctrinated, intelligent person *could* believe it. The mismatch between the singular Christian claim and the quality, or lack there of, of evidence for it is significant. It’s not even on par with the evidence required for a reasonable person in present day to evaluate the likelihood of truth about a claim. I’ve zero issue with people having a belief in a supernatural entity. When that belief includes forcing it on the larger world, I have very, very great problems with it, and that shifts it into immorality. Whether it be, historically, sovereign cultures decimated or suffering women today forced, *no matter her circumstances*, to give birth, Christians cause suffering which is most definitely not outweighed by acts of strings-attached charity.

The fact that suffering is a problem for you and all who are ignorant about God's sovereignty is not " bluster" or " callous". It's just something you can't understand. People who suffer will tell you that. Your bigotry against Christ's people shows.... charity with " strings attached".... Please! So Christians make women suffer by forbidding abortion no matter what? And the preborn women in an early stage of development....they don't suffer when they're dismembered or their lives are ended because of the "right" of the person carrying them? You need to learn more about the "tale" of Christ. You need to learn about the many evidences for His claims. I would advise you to abandon your worn out, failed arguments against Christ, your ignorance about Him and your bigotry against His followers. Without Him you're lost, and your comments show it.

@@jennifer97363 Trouble is, you know God exists & you are pert of the cause of suffering. You talk about being callous, yet you talk about a woman being forced to give birth as if the baby gets any choice. Look at your callousness to the child, who didn't ask its parents to have sex, and see in yourself the cause of suffering.

That's the question and the speaker never answered it: What possible relationship could there be between Jesus's death and a bunch of people doing mean things? Answer: None. There is no possible cause/effect relationship between the two events.

( Do Christians And Jews and "OTHER" non-Muslims go to Heaven? ) Quran 2:62 '' Those who believe (in the Quran) and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures) and the Christians and the Sabians->ANYAllah< Is The Protector Of Monasteries, Churches, Synagogues And The Mosques ) Quran 22:40 [They are] those who have been evicted from their homes without right - only because they say, " Our Lord is God " And were it not that God checks the people, some by means of others, there would have been demolished monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques in which the name of God is much mentioned. And God will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, God is Powerful and Exalted in Might. Note: Why did Allah protected Churches and Synagogues if they worship false Allah ? ( Why Are There So Many Different Religions In The World ? ) Quran 5 48 ''...... If God wanted He could have made all of you a single nation.( ie single religion ) But He willed otherwise in order to test you in what He has given you (ie Scriptures) therefore try to excel one another in good deeds. Ultimately you all shall return to God then He will show you the truth of those matters in which you '' >DISPUTE verb < not noun like other religions Islam mean "submission" to God ( The above verse saying is that God will not accept a religion from the >MUSLIM< and the Non-Muslims but total "submission" to God ) Question: How Can Muslim And the Non-Muslim "submit" to the God? Answer: Be kind to other human beings and Do not lie, Do not steal, Do not cheat, Do not hurt others, Do not be prideful and Do the charity work. Note: If you obeyed all the ABOVE Allah-God's moral laws "YOU" submitted to God.( ie Islam mean "submission" to God ) The only people who will enter Paradise those who '' Submitted to God '' ( ie by Good Deeds ) God does NOT accept your religion of birth but only ''Your Total'' Submission to Him. ( God Allows Interfaith Marriages And Eat Food From the Christian And Jew And Vice Versa ) Quran 5:5 ''This day [all] good foods have been made lawful, and the food of those who were given the Scripture (ie Christian and Jew) is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them. And lawful in marriage are chaste women from among the believers (ie Muslim ) and chaste women from among those who were given the Scripture (ie Christian and Jew) before you, when you have given them their due compensation, desiring chastity not unlawful sexual intercourse or taking [secret] lovers. And whoever denies the faith - his work has become worthless and he in the Hereafter will be among the losers.'' Note: > Only < Islam allows interfaith marriages (>14 hundredsSame God< but They are >ALL Corrupt< more or less, some more than others from their original foundational teaching. The older religion are MORE corrupted than newer religion. Question to Muslim and Christian: Does God / Allah only answer your pray ? And God / Allah does not answer non Muslim / non Christian pray? Did Allah '' Canceled '' all other religions Judaism and Christianity? Quran 5:48 '' And We have revealed to you [O Muhammad] the Book in truth, confirming that which preceded it of the Scripture ( ie New and old Testament ) and as a criterion over it. So judge between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their inclinations away from what has come to you of the truth. >>>TO EACH OF YOU WE PRESCRIBED A LAW AND A METHODone nation>differ qualified < for to enter Paradise ) On the day of judgement God will ''NOT'' judge humanity bases on Sunni Muslim sect VS Shia Muslim sect ''NOR'' by Muslim VS non-Muslim >but< Doer of Goods VS Doer of Evils. '' YOUR " birth in the Muslim's family is NOT a > qualification < for to enter the Paradise. '' YOUR " religion / sect / foot long beard is NOT a > qualification < for to enter the Paradise. Having been raised Catholic I can relate so much to his testimony. I gotta learn how to speak French-English, meaning talk like I’m French but speaking English…so cool. Ah, what Christ will do for those who surrender fully to Him. Great and encouraging video!!!
