Amazing how different the justice system is for wealthy people. How many times was he in contempt or said contempt worthy things. If it was typical American they would have been in jail immediately.

Would we just be fined for a felony? Most likely it would be jail time. Such a BS double standard.

Very good discourse. Take away the lovers and haters of Trump, and which one will win out at the end of the day....the Law or Trump? I see Independents overwhelmingly choosing the LAW.

So why is he not in prison? Why is he still allowed to run for president? Unless he is locked up, he will probably beat President Biden. I thought he would be locked up for years. But he is still out campaigning? Can the judge or prosecutor prevent him from doing this?

This is a Santa Claus moment for us as adults where we realize Santa isn't real. The law isn't actually real because it's not applied to everyone equally. In this case the law would interfere with the candidate chosen by one faction of the elite

No one is asking what if he's elected while he's in jail, because I think you don't get out of jail period, once you're in.

Cogen spent, what, 18 months in prison? Trump as the mob boss, need at least three times the prison time.

It's complicated. It's complicated. Please, neither the case nor it's sentencing is complicated. Stop saying it's complicated. Your speculations appear complicated but the facts are not.

If Biden had any sense, he would pardon Trump by the end of today. The political fallout from the verdict is untenable. The temperature in the country needs to come down. The verdict accomplished its objective that no one is above the law, even a US president. Pardoning Trump would help to dispel the notion that the administration is "out to get Trump." It would be difficult to see how Trump spins that decision.

Jack, Ford’s pardon of Nixon was one of the biggest mistakes in US history. The pardon made a mockery of justice. Traitor Don is now felon, along with an ejuducated fraudster and rapist, and twice impeached insurrectionist. Cohen served time for the same crime, a crime orchestrated by Trump. Traitor Trump’s next three criminal trials are for far more serious crimes. Traitor Trump will spend the rest of his miserable life in court or a prison cell.

And Jack, you know that if the shoe were on the other foot, Felon Trump would not pardon a political rival!

@@freeheeler09 The point is to draw a contrast between Trump and Biden. Trump's power is that he's able to convince his supporters that Biden's administration is completely corrupt and bent on destroying the country from within. The best way for the Biden campaign to attack that notion is to demonstrate otherwise. The harder Biden makes it for Trump to sell to his supporters the narrative that Trump has been feeding them, the more dots they have to connect to follow Trump's logic, the easier it will be for the Biden campaign to chip away at Trump's support. Remember, the people in the middle are the ones that will shape the election. Its those people that Biden needs to court. That begins by demonstrating leadership for the entire country, not just those that support you.
