We have 3 guinea hen and they are loud. We had to get a permit for ours. They used to be housed with our chickens, but now they have their own coop and pen.

@@kenyanboy7627 We are rural but inside city limits so we are bound by ordinances against noise disturbances. When neighbor complained of guinea noise, I had to file what is called a conditional use permit with city to utilize a portion of our property for agricultural use . A hearing was held. We had to answer questions of the committee and neighbors who attended . Then I had Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development come out to inspect our birds for conformance with GAAMPs (Generally Accepted Agricultural Management Practices). Once I received that approval, we are now protected by Michigan's Right to Farm Act and exempt from noise ordinance. Although our birds aren't too noisy to begin with, we have a neighbor who is petty. :)

A friend of mine had a terrible flea infestation, there were ticks too but the fleas were overpowering. He got 4 guinies and the problem went away. Their eggs are OK but they will hide them.
