New build series. The Cozart 12 string that survived the shop fire gets rebuilt as a minimalist guitar with a stock Fender type 12 string neck, a mahogany body, and a bridge quadrail. Disassembling the Cozart. Measuring the neck. Cutting, shaping, drilling, routing, sanding, and finishing the new body. Refinishing the neck.

I own one of these in the tele shape shape and after reshaping the neck to a comfortable size and putting on a six 660/12 Rickenbacker nut and reversing the strings so its Rickenbacker type stung with the octave on the bottom, it's a great sounding guitar

Sounds like a cool mod. Never knew Ricks had the octave string on the bass side - interesting choice - makes it a bit brighter, eh?

@@normbarrows2 Rics have the octave on the bottom, treble side the opposite of most guitars including these from the factory

Not as devastating as I thought it would be. There were only a couple of rare guitars - an ESP LTD M2, and an original Jackson Roswell (without the last crop circle). Everything else was replaceable. And my average cost per guitar was only around $200. The most expensive guitar was an Ibanez multiscale 8 string at $600. The old collection was "one of each type" with a few duplicates, plus my mods and builds. But I don't really need one of each type. Don't really need a 20-string harp guitar, or 7 or 8 strings, or multiscale for drop tuning. another 12-string acoustic would be nice - that's a bit beyond my Luthiery skills. I used to have a Taylor 12 string acoustic. My most expensive guitar ever - $1800 back in the late 90's. I do miss some of the builds, but I can always recreate them.

@@normbarrows2 I admire your acceptance of what happened and your ability to move forward looking towards the future. I too love to play a twelve string occasionally .Best wishes to you friend.
