@@catsofsherman1316 KDN is a guitar KZbinr based in the UK who did a video recently “exposing” the fact that the owner of Andertons (the largest guitar dealer in the UK) was partial owner of Victory Amps. The store sells Victory Amps and the reviews on the store’s KZbin channel are always favorable to those amps, but it was never officially disclosed the Lee Anderton was part owner of Victory. Apparently, that nondisclosure is (or borders on being) illegal under UK law.

I am the only female member of a guitar group here in NC that comprises of 5 other men who have GAS like no tomorrow. I like all of these guys and don't judge what they buy. They do understand I am no way near to purchasing a pre-war acoustic or custom built electric or arch top nor will I want to. I've stopped buying about 2 years ago due to disappointing on-line purchases. I'm down to 2 really nice acoustics (Martin 00028-EC and a Tanglewood Parlor) and 2 electrics (Jaguar, Mustang) I play often. The past 5 years has shown me I know what I like and what I can easily play.

I have 2 good ones. When I was in college we were on tour in Europe with the pop/jazz singers group. I was the bassist. No guitar. We saw some buskers and decided to pool our money to buy an acoustic and bongos to street perform to make some money (we spent more than we made 😂) our first busking location, unbeknownst to us, was in front of Mozarts house and the police came and asked if we were stupid or American for choosing that spot and said they could arrest us for playing there. Second is when strangers enable you. I found an unloaded Diezel 4x12 on Craigslist like 15 years ago for $200. I'm in Philly and the cab was in Southern Maryland. I couldn't work out the trip to get it so I posted it to the Rig-Talk forum. My phone rang 20 minutes later and it was a guy in Maryland telling me he was going to pick up the cab. I congratulated him on a good deal. He said "no I'm getting it for you. Im coming to Philly on Friday for the hardcore festival and I'll bring it with me." That dude was amazing and wouldn't let me give him extra for the gas.

The arsenal currently sits at 28 guitars, 6 amps and about 40 pedals. Mostly Fender and Epiphone but I got a Burns BM, Gretsch, Ibanez's, PRS SE and a few from a company called Carparelli in Barrie Ontario. Highest I've paid was recently for a Bonamassa 335. Its what I have instead of a Harley or muscle car.

But the day after I was back, I found out that a guitar store in my city (Paris, France) was selling a burst Epiphone Casino. I immediately got up, went to guitar repair store where my Gretsch was waiting for me while at the hospital and then went to the other store to make a trade. Most vintage specs guitars were not that expensive, like Fender MIM’s, SQ CV’s and EPI IBG’s, upgraded them with new pickups and electronics. My heart beats the fastest from modern guitars tho and i bought a PRS core McCarty 594 DC and a Suhr Standard Legacy as top guitars of my collection. And i can’t even play that well 😂 Craziest thing i did was call in sick for work and drive around the country about 700 miles to pick up 4 guitars and 1 amp in a day 🎸

Just about the first thing I did after moving from Iowa to NC (a return home after decades in the midwest) was take a trip from Pittsboro to Wilmington NC to see one of my daughters, but took a modest detour along the way to visit Baxter (sadly Jonathan was gone) and Casino Guitars for the first time... like most of you I'd been watching them for years on KZbin... I'd worked out in my mind that my Collings 0002H needed to go and that my stable required a Lowden made of something other than mahogany or rosewood. It was so much fun trying out all the Lowdens and I settled on a Cocobolo/Lutz F-50. I got to play along with Baxter and meet his family which was way too cool for school and I got a nice trade-in on the Collings... Baxter even carried the Lowden out to my car! Buying guitars is fun! There were times when I suffered buyer's remorse afterwards where I thought I made a rash (too quick) decision, but after a pro set-up by a luthier in Carrboro to adjust the action I am delighted with the Lowden now and it complements my other excellent guitars! Thanks Casino!

I have 14 guitars and basses and only two of them are un altered and only one was brand new. It was a gift. But all of them are top notch! Furthermore I had it shipped to a friend's place since I was gonna be away when it got delivered...A day before I got back she left town for 3 weeks All told, almost 7 weeks elapsed before I got my hands on it... was it worth it? -yes, saved close to 1G compared to what everyone else was asking for the same guitar and although it's technically player grade, it's in great shape would I do the same thing again? - yes... I know it was a stupid, reckless way to go about buying a guitar I'd never seen in person, considering I could have very easily saddled myself with an expensive lemon with no legal recourse to recoup my $$$...But I decided to throw all caution to the wind, I wanted it that bad Yeah, Id say I definitely have a problem

I just need to either buy another guitar with Dynasonics or buy a set and put them in one of my existing guitars. I have full size semi-hollows, a thinline hollowbody, a thick boy hollowbody, and a few regular thick hollowbodies. I have P90s, "normie" humbuckers, Guild Lil' Buckers, mini-hums, and Filter'Trons. I could probably thin the herd by one or two if I had to but it's convenient to keep guitars around already tuned to different tunings. I recently acquired a 150th Anniversary Sheraton and a Broadway that I'm Gretschifying. I'm really set for guitars now. About 4 years ago, I drove 3 hours to Sarasota to pick up a Yamaha T100C from a seller who would not ship....... because I got it for $400.00 and the circuit in to is designed by Michael Soldano and is very similar to the SLO head that sells for much much more..... It is a 1x12 combo with 100 watts and its downside is it is pretty darned heavy... but it sounds great and will cover just about anything from metal to pristine clean very well.......The spring reverb actually sounds very good and it can get some complex sounding overdrive sounds, although I usually play through it clean and use my pedals for dirt...... just easier and sounds plenty good....... but because of its' weight I mainly only play it at home....... Scotty Moore uses to tour with a Peavey Classic 30 and one of these T100C's in case it was a larger venue and he needed more power........this was near the end of his career and I'll bed he didn't do the lifting of it....... lol

I ordered my second guitar of the month yesterday, and just lost a dollar bet to a friend & coworker over me not buying another guitar. I’m starting to think that my gambling problem is getting worse.

I just got number 7. Ive doubled my max spent on guitar spending £1800 on a Les Paul. No regrets. I haven’t looked at anything else since. The GAS is quenched. There are some things i would like but I'm not chasing. For now...

120 comments and only one praising the thumbnail! That's hilarious. And the thumbnail is hilarious too.

Bought a Magnatone, Heritage, in December 2022, drive 8 hours to get a Martin custom shop, from Carters and just within the last month I bought a gretsch billy bo from Carters again. All this year basically. If I sold all my shit I could pay half my house off. No addiction at all. That lil Magnatone Starlite is catching my eye as well after recently playing through one lol. It never ends.

I'm kind of addicted to weird affordable vintage stuff like Tiescos and Supro amps and new things like Classic Vibe Teles.

I once bought a guitar that I didn't want from a girl that I wanted to get to know. I traded it for something later that year.

How bad is my guitar addiction? Well, it started when I was seventeen, and has not abated one bit since, many decades later.

One time a guy showed up in a Pontiac Fiero to buy a cab I was selling. His girlfriend was with him. Watching him try to fit both the cab and his girlfriend into that tiny two seater was hilarious.

I’m surprised neither the Fiero or the girlfriend caught fire lol. Those Fieros were deathtraps.

I finally got the old guitar thing under control. The old motorbike thing not so much.

I have had it for years. It's an obsession. It annoys others as far as my love for music. I one day found out that I have many planets in the 5th house in astrology, and that indicates either doing music professionally or a total love, which it is my biggest love.

Very cool. I thought I had to have one of those GE Smith at one time.

I finally cured my GAS. Sort of. I'm turning 70 next March and am resigning myself, since the other family members don't play, to the knowledge that I probably won't have the time to get tired of any more new gear...😢

I build my own Strats from scratch, it is way cheaper. 7 in the rack, 2 in gig bags, 1 more on the way.

When you say from scratch does that mean you carve your own necks and bodies?
