I appreciate you making these videos. Very informative

That Fritz string ruler is super handy, it has measurements on the other side for all different nut spacings. Well worth it.

I love everything about your videos, so relaxing and therapeutic. 👍🏻

I got the leveling file a couple of weeks ago. I've only used it to file down the exposed fret tangs on a Fender Strat, it did the job pretty well, pretty smooth! I'm on the fence about the nut files, aren't they too thick to cut a guitar nut?

I love all your creative videos- and your music too! I'm just wondering what the black measurement tool is that you use at 11:02 here in this shot

Hey Mark, great channel. I always enjoy your videos and the music in the background. Is there anywhere we can download your music from? thanks.

Part on Temu $2.50, same part on StewMac $14.95. I judge the part quality by the number sold. The worst part is just the looooonnnnnnggggg shipping wait. Thanks for video!

nice man, i actually already tested few. the "fret saw" is great for all sorts of micro jobs

Kind of unrelated to the content itself, but I dig the vibe of your videos. It's like guitar nerd ASMR LOL. Soft spoken and relaxing. Super interesting content all the time too. Good stuff 👍🏻

kinda wish you got a crowning file to try. But i suspect the temu ones are gonna be as bad as all the other cheapies i've tried. But yeah some tools you just don't need to spend the big bucks on.

You could use that tele and make a video on generic cnc tummy and arm cut for any guitar?
@MarkGutierrez6 ай бұрын
I had the exact same idea. I was thinking of throwing one of these on the CNC table and doing all sorts of "modern" carves on it.

All power to you for scoring a partnership. I can understand the direction you're taking, cos the low prices on Temu could make guitar building incredibly accessible for a lot of people. But I do find this kind of content generally less engaging and interesting than your hyper interesting experiments and design based vids. The ethical issues related to using Temu don't sit well with me ... all that said, you do this kind of content well, better than most and you're not losing a viewer here.
@MarkGutierrez6 ай бұрын
Believe me, I was extremely reluctant to make this video. I struggled with the decision. But in the end, the fee I charged Temu is paying for the nice lap steel hardware I'm ordering from France. We all have to find a business model that works.

@@MarkGutierrez Thanks for commenting back. I'm glad you're able find a way to make being a yt content creator financially viable on some level, and lord knows there's enough of the million plus subs channels that are absolutely dripping in sponsorships, so honestly I don't begrudge you this at all, but I do look forward to whatever insane experiment you have up your sleeve next :D You push the envelope of whats possible further than anyone else I've seen in this space, and that's what I'm here for

@@MarkGutierrez Just subbed to your channel after seeing a video from 2 years ago. I would be 'disappointed' by this video, but I understand your decision. IMO, those that don't want to see information about TEMU can just skip the video since you do have other content that they might like. Also, kudos to you for not trying to hide away from your comment section and owning up to what you are doing and why. As long as you aren't doing something shady, I don't have a problem with it. The life of an adult is tough. Best wishes.

How much are Temu actually paying you guys for these videos that are taking over my feed these days? The same people who have been telling us for years how a good tool saves you money in the long run are now gleefully shilling the exact products from Aliexpress that they've been turning their noses up at. Granted I'm not from the US, where I know it's more acceptable to grift but it's really disappointing to see.
