I saw The Minutemen play in Oakland decades ago. Great band.

I bet they were great live! Love Double Nickels On The Dime. I’ve only seen Watt live with The Stooges but that was very awesome.

Alex, I'm on the edge of buying the 1x12 frfr cab you build. I tried my buddy's big twin 3 and it's honestly really amazing sounding with the quad cortex both on bass and guitar. Will I regret buying it because it's a 1x12? My guitar Spidey sense says a 2x12 is better for music I play (see: Jericho hill on the spot). Thoughts??

Do you tune your avd to individual speakers?

There’s definitely a video needed about that!

Wait… did you explain, yet, why your demonstration cab says ‚Rarefaced‘ on the back?

This was inspired by Orange (mountain) Bikes, whose prototypes always say Strange in the same front / logo style: www.bikeradar.com/news/add-weight-go-faster-orange-bucks-the-lightness-trend/

Is there scope for a series on the bass cab design process? Not just because I want to know why my Super Twin is the shape it is 😉

Absolutely! Tons and tons to talk about on that.

Pickup position is a scale ... closer to the bridge changes the tone and feel one way, away from the bridge changes it another way. Every position is "right" for someone :). I prefer the bite and attack closer to the bridge.

Yes - and I think there’s also a thing regarding your plucking/picking position vs the pickup location - if you play near the pickup you get more of the transient percussives.

@@BarefacedAudio Absolutely. I think for some musicians they find their home tone by using the pickup as a rest which plays a part in the variety of home tones of j-bass players. It's got more easy to find options you can stumble on as a beginner.

@@Scoots1994 not long after I started playing bass I got my Dad to help me put a thumbrest on my bass because it made no sense to be tied to the bridge or neck pickup if I wanted somewhere to put my thumb whilst playing the E string!
