Trapped Under Ice wasn't even exportable from GHWT for no apparent reason, yet the rest of the Ride The Lightning songs (that are available on the GHM disc, mind you) were exportable.

I'm more disappointed that And Justice For All wasn't part of the Guitar Hero Metallica setlist. Neither was Ride The Lightning. And ironically, one of the trailers for Guitar Hero Metallica ends with "Ride The Lightning 2009". But I'm sure it was licensing. Harmonix had those songs (and Blackened) as DLC for Rock Band.

Fun fact, Alex's bass drums here consist of four bass drums paired two and two to make two extra deep bass drums (if you look closely you can even see the screw-holes for the drumheads in the middle of the drum). This is my favorite song in Guitar Hero Van Halen and my favorite Van Halen song overall. Also, I'm sure that there is a perfectly logical explanation as to why this song was reused from Guitar Hero World Tour. Maybe at the time of development for GHWT, GHVH probably wasn't much of a thing yet. As a matter of fact, the idea of it may not have been brought to fruition. This version also supports Expert+ for drums, whereas GHWT didn't have Expert+. I do agree that it is kind of strange to reuse songs from previous games in the series, but what matters to me is that they're at least enjoyable. Guitar Hero Smash Hits boasts the most obvious example of this being a greatest hits compilation, but at least a good number of the songs that made it into that game are enjoyable or could be considered among the best in the series, despite the fact that some people, myself included, may point out songs that they feel are missing. What made those songs great in that game is being able to play all the original versions of the songs with a full 4-player band instead of having to settle for playing some covers that people can often times be critical towards with only one or two players at a time. What made this song great in this game is being able to play it in a game meant to pay tribute to the band in it's name, like "One" from GH3 & GHM.

It's funny that, at least in my opinion, this is actually easier than the GHWT chart. Solo's a little easier, the chords right after the verses are a little simpler to hit (BO YB RY YB instead of BO YO RO YO), and the fast strumming at the end is a little easier. I suppose the zigs at the beginning could be considered slightly harder in the GHVH version, but not by much.
