Deans chord shapes are so lush. This song along with plush, big empty and interstate love song always have that flair. Very cool Ryan

Thank you! I have a story to tell about this song. I went to see STP in 2000 on their #4 album tour (still in my top 10 favorite concert moments). Anyway, when they played this song and when it came time for the chorus the whole audience sang it so loud it brought chills up my spine. So much energy that night. I'll never forget it.

Ryan...I enjoyed your video...I really like the way you present what you learned. We’re covering this song in a band I’m in right now...I think there is a minor error in the chords you have for the chorus. When I initially started playing this, I played it the same way you do in your lesson here. But after listening to the song a few more times, the progression is a bit different than what you’re playing. On the lyrics in the chorus, “I’m not dead” - you showed it with the bass note moving down a whole step on each word...but it doesn’t do that. Give it a listen quickly and you’ll see what I’m talking about... I’m not trying to be hypercritical so others can go ahead and keep their nasty comments to themselves. :) I’m just trying to correct the notes here for us. That’s all.

appreciate you leaving the comment for posterity's consideration Jay :)
