That’s not white binding, the body is two molded fiberglass shells, the white is a gasket that holds them together.

These are fun guitars. Great pickups (called Vista-Tones in Valco promo material…the electronics as a whole are sometimes referred to as Vista-Power) and nice necks. I have the Westwood version of this guitar, body made of wood rather than fiberglass but sounding much the same. The pickups are unusual in that the two magnets aren’t in or beneath the coil but alongside it. This is why the pickup enclosure is large despite the coil being Strat-like. Both the bobbin and the magnets sit on the same metal plate. Valco wasn’t trying to imitate a humbucker look…the Vista-Tones predate both Gibson’s and Gretsch’s HBs by a couple years. (Also: Valco’s predecessor company, National, had a humbucker in the early 1940s but it was never used by Valco after WWII.)

Not a Glenwood. They had two pickups and a different fret board inlay. Some also had a pickup under the bridge. I believe this is a Newport 82.
