That’s a wild looking Yamaha. Every guitar that comes through your shop seems to have a ton of personality.

I had one of those Yamahas. It had more potential than it did anything else. I let it go because I had too many other priority projects but the body is solid and has nice carves. Better electronics could have changed a lot for that guitar.

@@presmasterflash7555 I think a nice set of PAFs would turn that into a giggable guitar for sure. Yamaha makes great stuff, whether it’s guitars, motorcycles, or lawnmowers.

I used to have one of those Dean Hardtails, he's right about not seeing a lot of those anymore. Mine had a flame maple top with an incredibly beautiful blue burst finish. It sounded pretty good and was fairly decent as far as playability goes, but it was absolutely gorgeous without a doubt. I also really liked the body style with the top horn being so exaggerated in length. I think it came with a pair of Seymour Duncans as the original pick-ups straight from the factory if I'm remembering correctly. There were really only two minor grievances I had with that guitar, one of which was the fact that it was kind of on the heavy side and the other was that the neck was just a little too fat. Neither of those things were a big deal at the end of the day though. I really regret letting that one get away honestly but, as cool as it was, I'm confident that keeping a roof over our heads was the best decision in that situation.
