@@i2tryhard its the easiest polyphia riff but you know damn well that shit isn’t easy😭 i’ve learned abc, saucy, the worst, and playing god and it takes just as long to learn goat as it does all of those songs what’s the point in coming on the comment section just to be a negative person it genuinely makes me mad dude honestly that song is harder than the worst

Goddamn! Any recs for just learning to shred? Played for a while, but most of what people recommend (Master of Puppets or War Pigs solos) are wayyy more than I can handle despite being able to move kinda fast.
@CallousCoder25 күн бұрын
You have to step back to the basics and Thats left and right hand coordination just playing scales with a metronome and increasing that speed. Also you may want to look up economy picking and pick slanting, pick direction . Pick direction did it first me. I always started everything with a down pick but when you are on the high e after a triplet, you will have to move over the string so you can’t economy pick that 4th note. So if I play two notes per string or 4 notes I start with an upstroke when going down the strings and down strike going up the strings. When Steve Vai showed this in his master class it changed my playing forever. And also don’t be afraid to combine picking with legato (hammer-on pull offs), it’s no law to pick everything. Paul Gilbert doesn’t (and also a great guy to watch his instruction videos on).
@nicklee376925 күн бұрын
@@CallousCoder Ah, the pick manipulation bit, yeaaaa... honestly, dysgraphia might just be taking the win here, cause I've explained the theory behind most of this stuff to other folks, just can't really do it myself.
@CallousCoder25 күн бұрын
@@nicklee3769 it really takes commitment to constantly think about it, yeah! And then there comes this time that you feel you can’t even play the way you used to anymore and all sounds terrible. I had that phase! And I decided to just stay with hardrock and suddenly I realized,,, it should ls different, less rough less aggressive. And that’s when I was automatically doing it 🤣and I’m quite a bit older and in the 80 early 90s you had to shred to get into a band. Which was stupid because a Dave Gilmore can’t shred nor can BB King and Clapton and the are some of the most influential guitar players 🤣But I’m glad a persevered. Now I want to sweep pick, i have never focused on that.
@grayson_003025 күн бұрын
@@nicklee3769 the eruption tapping part is pretty easy and is good for learning how to tap, the crazy train solo was also not too difficult, learn the major scale because if you do it fast it sounds cool, the physcosocial solo is really intimidating but the beginning part really helped me learn how to play that many notes quickly
