This is one of my favorite snippets of the heaven DL provides us. And notice that they are playing outside in Sweden and it it obvious cold. How cool is that?

Damn that bass Brian! A bit of shredding in sections would be cool. I love this lineup

Just shows how great a jazz bass player Henrik truly is.

@@RobertClaeson yeah, I agree. Henrik tho disagrees, he thinks he sucks at jazz ;) In a recent interview he said that he never got that much into jazz, but more into other styles. Still, I wish I had 1% of his jazz chops…. ☺️

Thanks for a great reaction and breakdown, Brian. This recording of their cover of Just Dance would be amongst maybe only two live recordings of Dirty Loops which I’d suggest watching to anyone. It showcases all of them so well. Jonah’s vocals -that endless riff near the end-, Aron’s tight drumming, and Henrik 😱😱😱 Listen to the original, it’s a fun contrast to this their version of it :) Also their studio version on the Loopified album -it’s equally, if not more, nuts. Re that true temperament fretted bass, there are many videos up on YT with Henrik Linder interviews, where he explains why exactly he likes one, and where those frets come in for him. Also that on some older recording he had to re-tune his bass for every chord or riff, to get it in tune. That TT bass isn’t perfect either, but better than the others in that respect. Thanks for geeking out on those and some other technicalities, -always super interesting for me. And as always, looking forward to more Dirty Loops from you 🙏 Btw, you might’ve heard, Dirty Loops drops a new song this coming Friday, Oct 4!!

I haven’t heard that a new song was coming out. Thanks for the heads up.

They’ve said in the past that Pat Metheny is one of their influences. Can you imagine what a master class a collaboration with Pat Metheny and Dirty Loops would be? It would be incredible.

That would be incredible, would love to see that happen.

That would be out of this world….!!

TBH, plays guitar too, but not sure I need a guitar in there. There is so much there already.

A disagree, there is never to much guitar.

@@GuitarSoloReactions I guess I should have more than expected that reply from a channel called GuitarSoloReactions. 🙂

I do not want to correct in anyway, but according to my ears and my knowledge the true temperament frets must have to do with the piano? Because it has to be tuned by ear and not with a tuner? Cheers!
@fiddlestix3025Ай бұрын
@@milesdust3465 hi miles, from what I understand as a string player (and you also play the cello, right?), getting intonation right for anyone other than a pianist, is an eternal goddamn struggle. Volumes have been written on the subject, masterclasses taught - but in essence, you can’t win, whatever approach you try. There’ll always be compromises you have to make, in order to be in tune with either -the harmony you’re playing in, -the other instruments you’re playing with. The note B, for instance, in one particular key, will have to differ from the B in another key, etc etc. Jacob Collier had explained it well in some of his videos. So Henrik’s wonky frets are just trying to hit a happy medium for most keys he’s playing in. Going Fretless would give him even more freedom to forge a ‘perfect pitch’ in each moment, but also has his downsides. You might know all this, so sorry if I’m preaching at you there, but hey, I thought I have a crack at this conversation ☺️ 👍
