This band, and especially this recording session, grows on you so quickly. I have probably listened to the entire performance 20 times over at this point, and certain sections even more than that, and infectious is an understatement as I seem to like it more every time I do. Truly a group that is greater than the sum of their parts. They know how important things such as tone, timbre, dynamics, syncopation, harmonics, and just everything else is when making music that will really stick with people. When introducing people to them, I often describe their sound as Daft Punk's Random Access Memories album, played live by Vulfpeck, with Tame Impala crooning. So many clear influences, but they are still uniquely themselves, love to see it.

Really it's the Nile Rogers sound that they (and daft punk on RAM) nail so perfectly. Chucking guitar part is classic Nile. Tied Up Right Now by Parcels and Lose Yourself To Dance (written by Daft Punk and Nile Rogers) are so so similar

For a second I thought it was the solo is the video and I was thinking wow this is pretty good later and a couple seconds later I realized it was Michael! Very nice playing my friend! Btw…every time you post a blues video and plays some blues in the intro and during the video and break it down I always feel that is definitely your strong point and that you are a much better blues player than you probably give yourself credit for. You have all the feel, vibrato and plus you really love the blues like I do ( or the blues love you lol ) and I think loving the sound and feel and rhythm of those licks with all the awesome bends and patterns and vibratos, makes you a better blues player. Anyway…great video! Mote blues!!

Tis true, I grew up in Perth (Australia) and the number of talented musos here is incredible, but they find it hard to gain traction with such a small market, hence why so many head to Europe/UK/USA, cheers!

The Parcels are such an incredible band, I've had the chance to hear them twice already in Germany. The first time was in a small tent on a festival with only about 100 viewers and we were right in the first row, such a pleasure to watch them really enjoy what the are doing nad to hear the live sound right out of those amps! And they also look incredible like everyone of them is born in a different decade starting at 1950.

I'm so glad to see this and see someone experience Parcels Live 1 for the first time. I think this recording/album is by a long shot one of the greatest pieces of music written in a very very long time. I show this album to every music person I meet and have yet to find someone that isn't completely blown away. It feels so genuine and real. Just some people playing some music and having a great time all while being recorded and mastered in an S tier way. It has always seemed to me that they have listened to every "great" song over the past 50 years and put it all together in one. They have clearly done their homework on what makes a great pop song and it shows. You can hear Steely Dan, Yes, Michael Jackson, Beegees, Dire Straits, Phil Collins, Elton John, etc, etc, etc. and that is only in the first 10 minutes. It is a love letter to the pop bands of yesteryears.
