For me personally - as a 55-years-old male German - AMK is the best German band right now. I love their German original songs, because of the perfect interplay between lyrics, melody, musical execution, and of course Henning May's soulful voice. But I also love their English cover songs together with other talented young bands. Not only are AMK incredibly talented themselves, but they are also truly “musicians' musicians” with a palpable joy in making music and making music together with other musicians. Although Henning's unique voice is - inevitably - the outstanding feature of these covers, it never overshadows or dominates the whole thing, but blends with the respective guest singer's voice and becomes an essential part of a well arranged, beautifully crafted whole - always unique, always beautiful, always enjoyable.

Yes, they absolutely feel like old school, "true" musicians, with little ambition for business but 100% love & dedication for the art. All 3 of them, plus the amazing tour band.

2015, alter Schwede, und damals war ich noch in D. Ich bin so froh, 2024 endlich etwas gutes aus der Heimat zu hoeren. His name is Henning May. The band name AnnenMayKantereit is just the founding members' last names.

I do too! Born in 1960 and the music from the 69s, 70s & early 80s was so much more original than the canned pop/electronic/computerized music of today. Was so glad to find AMK! Henning reminds me of Jim Morrison/The Doors and also the band Iron Butterfly.
