I can't believe I just now found this video and it's 10 years old. I love it. No talking or sponsor plugs. Just playing. Love the layout. The highlighting the note you're teaching and playing the major and minor form of it as well as the placement of the guitar chart. Sounds like simple, obvious things. But, a lot of instructors don't take the time to do stuff like that and they LOVE hearing themselves talk.

Don't give up. I'm a beginner myself and have a hard time playing some of these as well, but one rule applies when you learn to play guitar: Allow yourself to get frustrated, and practise :) You will get it eventually.

You just changed my life 🙌🙏🏼 it never dawned on me to “make my own”. I read your comment, made my own and it was awesome! My playing has always been very improvisational strumming to make melodies, so putting pressure on myself to learn chords in a traditional way always jammed me up because I have small hands and I can’t seem to accomplish the chords they teach so high up on the neck. Making “my own” worked and I created full chord sounds I that love! Thank you for the inspiration to improvise and improve 🙌🙏

I've been playing for 5 yaers and I have very little "natural" ability for music, yet I managed to become very good at playing guitar and violin (played latter since 2004 in school only). All it takes is hard work and dedication to become good. You'll get better! EVery guitarist was in the same situation as you, so you can do it!

@@keymaster430 I just bought my own travel sized guitar last week! And it’s so much more comfy than the Dreadnought I first bought. I’m still not as good as I would like of course. I’m trying to work on singing and playing the right chords at the right time 🤣 I wasn’t playing consecutively throughout the fall, so that adds to the slow progress. But I’m taking private lessons in the summer semester so I’m very excited for that and now that I have a guitar that fits me ive been playing daily, hoping to keep it up ☺️

@@Philanazoie That's great! I'm definitely a beginner and should've spent as much money on lessons as I do guitars. I just HAD to get a Gibson Les Paul and, let me tell you. THOSE are heavy. Sometimes, I have to set it aside and pull out the Strat, lol. So, if you get to where you record yourself playing, I'd love to see/hear a video (if you don't already have any). Keep it up!

Minor's are usually used to play sad or depressing songs and Major is used for more uplifting songs. You can sorta tell from the tone. One sounds a little depressing than the other while the other one sounds uplifting.

I am a newbie at playing guitar, been playing it for like 3 months now and I must say that I am finally able to do the barre chords ( all strings with 1 finger ), just keep playing and you will build up your finger strength! U guys might wanna put your index as near as possible to the fret(those thin metals that are inbetween fretbars). It'll make you reach less and most of the time, if done correctly, it'll automatically be pressing those string down with ease.

Nice job! Technically your B chord is a slash chord though since you're barring the low E (string 6). In particular, B/F# since F# is lower in pitch than the root note of the chord on the A string (string 5). It's still B though and works!

Why on the G Major are you putting your 3rd finger on the B string 3rd fret? I was always taught for that to be open?

GamersRevengeUK A chord is a combination of notes, not simply a shape or pattern. There are MANY different ways to play a G chord. The notes which need to be present are G, B, and D. Therefore, both are correct.

Lot of people call that the "Neil Young G" - he uses that G-shape a lot, as do many folk and country players. It's a also great because by moving only fingers 1 and 2 over you can also get a nice C major chord, while you leave fingers 3 and 4 locked-off on the 3rd fret of string 1 and 2.

For C chord I like to play putting 3rd finger on low E string and pinky on the 5th string 3rd fret. Sounds nicer.

I'm desperate to learn how to play guitar fluently. I don't know any things about guitar and it's cords my fingers are nearly bleeding it's paining. I will play it till my fingers bleed. Moon walk hi and yea if you.always use your guitar it will not bleed but it will like have a skin like example you have a thing to pull off and so that is what u will do if it is dry and dont worry why? Cause after you experience that pain on ur finger from the guitar, your skin on ur finger will be hard like kinda thick then you will not have a hard time pressing the chords cause it doesnt hurt anymore :) From: Farina da gamer :3
