Wow, 7 years ago and yet a typically timeless excellent lesson. I find your lessons to be the most accurate in every aspect. Lots of guys put up what I group in the 'cover band, bar gig, and the cheap and easiest to play cheat versions.' - It's amazing what bands get away with when playing to drunk patrons who can't tell the difference. Thanks as always for keeping me on the accurate track. Wife, friends, and strangers tell me that I'm an excellent guitar player, so I especially appreciated the corrections your lessons have given me. Accuracy is very important for me. If I can't play a tune accurately and play it confidently and well, then I'll skip it. Cheers from Texas!

@StratoLesTele I also share the concept of getting the details and being as accurate to the original recordings we are most familiar with, as that's what us players want to learn. That said, many of the YT "instructors" serve as a guide to get us going on learning at least the basics of the track, which is useful. Some of the "instructors" even say that they don't intend to do note-for-note lessons.
@johanramakers97116 жыл бұрын
This is the best standard tuning version on YT. For all you purists, if you're playing in a cover band, there is no way during a gig you have the time to re-tune your guitar every time you need to play a Keith Richards Open G, Open E or drop D classic or in this case an open C. Stop whining. Thanks Alex.
@timpenfield56 жыл бұрын
yes, but i still would like to know, are there 2 guitars playing in the original track, 1 in standard, 1 in keif tuning?
@StompingRabbits6 жыл бұрын
The Bad Co original recording has the guitars tuned to open C.
@StompingRabbits6 жыл бұрын
If you watch Bad Co. playing it live back in the 70's you see both guitars play the first C chord with neither player using their left hands. They both strum the first C chord without using their left hands. From this it is safe to deduce that both guitars are tuned to an open C chord.

"They don't play it every time the same thing", that's definitely true, e.g. in live shows. Yet, the altered versions are recognizable enough that we know what song it is they are doing.
@pauldendleguitar2 жыл бұрын
According to Mick Ralphs this song wasn't recorded in 'standard tunning', which is why trying to duplicate the dynamics is difficult to nail in standard tunning - so don't beat yourself up if it doesn't sound quite right.

Hi this is a good cover but its not what Mick Ralphs plays on the song. He uses an open C tuning. which is C-C-G-C-E-C. This gives the true sound of Cant Get Enough
