Excellent words in the beginning of the video Troy. So many Christian guitarists miss that point and focus on what they are playing alone. Very well said brother.

Austin, that's something I have done for a while. There's nothing more important than maintaining a commitment to the glory of Jesus Christ. I've noticed a few other resource providers have followed suit recently. Very pleased about that.

Danny Baker I’m not. I just play over the regular MP3. 🤷🏻♂️

Nice lesson. Very helpful. And nice board....but seriously bro, it's like a parody of worship boards. Here I have $1000 worth of reverb pedals into three more delays along with two preamps and three drive pedals. It's all controlled by midi and I'm using my (insert boutique guitar here) with (insert boutique pickups here). Cracks me up every time. FWIW, I built our church a board for when I'm not there. A Joyo Americana, NUX Atlantic and Ace of Tone. I can pull any Phil Wickham, Hillsong, or Bethel tone with that rig. All for about the cost of a Big Sky. And it's simple to use.

Glad it was helpful. There's a sect of people that find humor in a pedalboard with vast amounts of options, MIDI and handmade guitars/pickups. It's almost as if they look over at people like me in scorn, ridicule or mockery, or feel I don't know there's other gear out there. I've boiled it down to the fact that some are pragmatic and prefer to approach this using as few pedals and few dollars as possible, and think others should do the same. Their goal is to prove that getting good tone doesn't have to involve high dollars. And they're absolutely correct! On the other hand, some prefer to have tons of options, find joy in programming, tone-hunting, midi and really like the feel/look of certain guitars so they buy them. They also enjoy supporting small builders and even large companies alike. It really is a personal thing. But seriously bro, I'm well aware that a low-dollar rig can get some darn good tones and that, in the spirit of minimalism, I could skate by with much less . But to me, tone and guitar playing in general is about the inches, and I feel the gear I've settled on gives me a few more "tone inches", and I like that.😃 I've been that way for 15+ years now. My blues/R&B boards were always larger than the average bear's...haha. In any case, if you find it humorous, good on ya! 👊🏻

@@GuitarforHISGlory Thanks for the thoughtful reply. Honestly, I tried the mega-board, but the noise, cabling, power, etc. was such a hassle. Especially if the sound guy and I were not on the same page. Now I do a Big Sky and Timeline into the loop of a Stomp XL. One power supply, four pedals (with a Mission Volume Pedal) and it fits in a Mono-bag with whatever guitar I'm playing. Easy won the day for me.

Your anti Bethel comments on God of Revival tutorial are shameful. To teach a song written and birthed in the Bethel movement while at the same time slamming the church is very wierd. Its like laying an ax to the root of a tree saying the tree is evil while you eat the fruit...... You should apologize to Bethel church.
@GuitarforHISGlory4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment and apparent concern. Can you explain what I need to apologize for?
@BrianNickens4 жыл бұрын
You are using their material because it is obviously popular and good for your channel but insulting their ministry at the same time. Is that honoring God and the body of Christ?
@GuitarforHISGlory4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your concern. If you haven't noticed, I choose songs based solely on the lyrics. Unfortunately, many of the churches who write theologically sound songs practice/teach doctrine that is far from biblical. Therefore, (also if you haven't noticed), I use GuitarforHISGLORY as a way to teach people great songs and promote biblical truth, which necessitates pointing out error. Whether or not Bethel's leaders (I didn't say their entire congregation) are in the Body of Christ depends on one's Christological convictions. Thanks again for your concern and your polite approach. Feel free to message me on Facebook, Instagram or email me at troy at guitarforhisglory dot com if you want to chat more. Happy to discuss this with you.

You didnt actually ‘point out’ Bethels errors. What exactly are they? Can you please be specific? Since you made the comments on KZbin to your audience I would prefer to keep the discussion in the thread.

Brian, I gave you the option to reach out to me privately. I’ve spoken out publicly on this many time over the last couple years. If you missed those, that’s no fault of mine. Here’s how it happened for me: I caught wind of some iffy teaching coming from Bethel related to the Christology, Eschatology and the authority of Scripture. Did research on my own, because I was genuinely concerned, as i only knew their music. Based on my research, I came away with the conclusion, as have countless other orthodox Christians, that Bethel’s teaching in some areas is dangerous. If you’re genuinely concerned, you’ll research for yourself and come to your own conclusion. I’ll provide links here to help, but I’m not going to have this conversation on a KZbin thread (again) when I’ve done it many times on Facebook and IG. This was the first one that really caught my attention: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGTXdqloa7SAirc. Then this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iIuVeaV4iZiNnaM. Followed by many more well-written pieces explaining their teaching.
