So, I went to school for audio engineering/music production, and it's part of how I make a living these days. Here's how most of these incredible live mixes happen: They record the mics/DIs into a DAW, straight from the mixing board at the show. After they record, someone does a mix of the show to be able to hear the performance in the most epic way possible. It includes the normal stuff: eliminating mic bleed, levels, EQ, compression, time-based effects, etc. They don't usually "doctor" any performances though, especially with a band like this where there aren't any clean vocals to use pitch correction on. Knocked Loose truly is this good live.

Not saying these dudes aren't talented or that their music isn't. I just don't like it.

I saw Knocked Loose live on Halloween last year and they sounded this good. I will say part of how their live mix is so good is because they use digital amp modelers for the house mix bit they also use real amps for stage sound so what you’re hearing is probably a mix of both

Love the video! For more Knocked Loose, I’d say to try out the track Belleville - such strong grooves in that one. For other adjacent bands, Kublai Khan TX has some awesome grooves, though maybe fewer switches. “Boomslang” has a great bounce to it and is a great first exposure. Counterparts is also another band with great grooves that are always moving around. “Bound to the Burn” may be their best example of this!

Gotta say, Knocked Loose was one of the last band I’d expect you to react to. Not surprised to hear many people disliking the vocals; they’re definitely an acquired taste and not for everyone. Where I draw the line is when idiots say that it takes no talent and that anyone can do that. I dare any naysayers to try and scream like this for 5 minutes without ruining your vocal cords. Learning proper harsh vocal technique is a long term process, and while admittedly Bryan isn’t my favorite harsh vocalist, I respect the ferocity and skill he has. You don’t have to enjoy the music, but don’t spew BS about it not being “real music” or “just worthless noise”. That just speaks volumes about how narrow minded you are.

Wasn’t a Knocked Loose fan until I saw this concert footage. Absolute fun to see your reaction and love your breakdown of the elements of this opener! 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽

If you want heavy and groovy you have to listen to Tursnstile! Been listening for years and now they’re doing late night shows. You have to check them out!
