@@MikelBluni u r welcome, thanks for some serious insights. your channel is one of the best places for us hendrix cultists :) do you still mostly use 8-6-8-8-0 setup? and maybe you have an opinion on Carl Martin purple moon pedal (vibe-fuzz)? that would be interesting to hear! thanks

@@qirico Thanks 😊 Yes the mentioned setting is my main setting. Has proven itself at more than 100 gigs 🎸 The Carl Martin is a cool pedal, have played it once. I prefer the flexibility of single pedals though ✌️☮️🎸

Nice video! I enjoyed the format. I gig mostly within 45 minutes of my house but have occasionally traveled a few hours away for shows.

Thanks for sharing you experiences 👍 I think around an hour ride is the average for most guys. My personal experience is that when you get a booker with a wider network you’ll get the more distant gigs. I still play more distant locations regularly, but it gets more rare as the budgets for art and culture are decreasing and those gigs have to pay for the hotel and other things, too. I’m happy to hear you like the format ☮️😘✌️🔥

The biggest distance done for a gig was flying from amsterdam to bangkok ( 13 hours ) and then another 16 hours on the bus to the south of thailand , i have also done a 1000 km ride from the south of holland to prague for a small tour there ( 8 gigs in 2 weeks ) , for the rest i mostly played in holland or belgium ( also a few gigs in france and spain when on holiday overthere ) so mostly 1-2 hours drives . I am 60 years old and have stopped gigging for several years now , i mis the buzz , but not the hassle that sometimes comes along with gigging live

Awesome you shared this 🙏 Yeah, we musicians do crazy things for a gig sometimes 😀 To me the biggest hassle nowadays is hauling my entire rig, I love the travel though and exploring new locations. By the way I sometimes play in The Netherlands, too 🎸🔥✌️👍

@@MikelBluni I often bring a dolly, so I can get it all in one trip. I tried lugging a big cab around awhile, many years ago, but then I found 1x12 combos work fine anywhere, with or without being mic’d. Most bars or clubs, that have no PA or nothing that can handle the instruments, are small enough for a 1x12. The preamp in a Uni Vibe can drive an amp for another channel, with a Vibe that the LFO can be taken out, or made so negligible, it’s not heard. I’ve used them for a lead boost many times.

@@MikelBluni I meant to reply that to the 60 year old guy, who said he stopped gigging. One can hear and see, that you’ve been gigging, by choices made at the gig, and the sound you get.

Yeah i think Jimi was also bored that, everyone always wanted to hear those familiar songs rather than new ones. Nice video!👏 By the way... You should check out harley benton american sound (truetone) pedal if you ever want some Fender type sounds mixed to your Marshall. It's really good for that and cheap. I got one and now it stays on my pedalboard.

Yeah, I’ve played more than 100 gigs with Electric Voodooland and you can clearly tell people love the bigger hits - especially Hey Joe - but I must admit that some of the later stuff gets people by surprise and oftentimes that’s when they start moving and grooving. I just love to play live and Ivan blessed with a full gig calendar where I can keep Jimi’s legacy alive 🙏💯🔥🎸✌️☮️
