What's crazy to me too is how good the singer of these songs is at impersonating different styles of vocals. So he's got the Axl Rose/M. Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold) "cat meow" as you put it in this song. He has some songs where he sounds like a copy of James Hetfield with his signature "YEAH-EE-YEAH-UH" style, and also the way he uses his vocal growl in some songs like Ramlethal's theme. The second time he gets to the end of the chorus where he uses heavy vocal fry on the "JUST BURNS UP TIIIIIME!" sounds so Metallica. He's got some stuff where he channels his inner "big band" voice like Frank Sinatra ALA the ending of Zato's theme. He's also got his Louis Armstrong moments like in "Kiss of Death". The way he sings "We can handle it" in the beginning with that trailing off rumbly vibrato sounds so similar to the way Louis sings the ends of phrases in "What A Wonderful World." Also parts of the chorus in the same Goldlewis theme where he uses that like full vocal big chest sound. He's very good at being whatever style he feels suits the song, and that's so cool to me. He can be whatever he needs to be for the song, and it just means he can express himself in more ways.

That tritone thing about the devil is a pop culture myth, actually. There's lots of fucking DOPE old catholic music with tritones. Adam Neely has a video up on it. The Catholics really knew how to create some wild shit back then.

God I love Faust's theme, I just want to give the poor guy a hug. Seeing him suffering in his Strive incarnation is so sad to see. Especially after watching Xrd's story mode.

Faust's song is so good. The chorus has so much meaning behind it "no one can see the colours but you" is so true, it's just impossible for everyone to see the same colours as other people

the acoustic slow part is actually "No Surprises" by Radiohead, like straight up they just sampled it

The chorus is also directly sampled from the song "From Out of Nowhere" by Faith No More. Despite the heavily sampling, I still think this is a fantastic song that sets itself apart from both of its influences with it's crazy blending of sounds.

Oooh! I have been WAITING for this one! I heard this song play in the background during one of the betas... and it was the first time i *really* took notice of the music in this series. I love this song so much- and it's such a good leitmotiff for faust.

As much as I love Alone Infection I definitely miss the more “funky and wacky” vibe his old themes had, but considering the redesign probably a good idea to change it up

It took me a while to realize, but the chorus is outright part of the chorus from Faith No More's "Out of No Where" which is amazing, 'cause it always gets left in the dust next to Epic

Funny how the chorus is "happy shit" when it's Faust questioning what a dead person sees from the beyond.

The happy chorus speaks so well to Faust's insanity in a very tragic way. Definitely yelling this chorus in the car every time it comes on.

Oh jeez, when you first started playing that acrylic I immediately thought of Iron Man because even if I can't play guitar, my brain just defaults to making every guitar chord or chord progression just attached to one song in particular, and I shouldn't have to say the name of the band because if you know you know.
