Yngwie is a guitar genius and legend, who pushed the envelope! I had the privelege of seeing him live at L'Amour Rock Club (Brooklyn, NY), way back in the early 80's in support of his 'Rising Force' release, and collective jaws dropped! Everyone walked out of there realizing that they just witnessed rock history!

I only have 1 wish for Yngwie. I wish for Yngwie to find and accept his "inner" peace. I love his passion and skills and his knowledge of historical music. What I want or like or love doesn't really matter because I am not Yngwie. I will make my way and enjoy life as I am allowed in my life, but I wish he would also find a way for him to find happiness in his own life. I will always enjoy neoclassical music. I love Yngwie music. I wish Yngwie appreciated Yngwie without the need for him to constantly prove he is worthy. Less is more sometimes and he needs to feel and learn this. I do hope he finds his happiness.

So wrong, so wrong... You guys need to accept his relationship with guitar, its special for everybody and different, too! He dont need to prove nothing he pushes limit he can he do, he plays that guitar from the guts and he knows his limits he is musician not sportist!!

I love watching Yngwie reaction videos by actual guitar players. With that acoustic intro the eyes always glaze over followed by a blank look on the face as your mind try’s to process what your hearing and seeing! Don’t dwell on it brother, like the rest of us you’ll never fully comprehend it!

@@zombiemachinery4868 a shout out to you sir. People overlook that and ODYSSEY with joe Lynn Turner which is solid. U know all this talk of eddie van halen is a little overhyped. What yngwie brought to the world of guitar is a game change also. He was the only guy there for awhile. He might be a little insane in his personal life I dont know. But Eclipse is awesome. Cant touch that..m.

@@zombiemachinery4868 hendrix best guitarist icon of the whole 60s. Jimi at woodstock like a mad scientist creating new age of aquarius SPANGLED banner. The look the creativity the magnetism . It's a little beyond understanding. Also wrote lyrics. basslines lead vocals incredible tracks with real beauty soundscapes. Vibrato arm mastery feedback effects just a class act. Best songs ever created. Not JUMP or poundcake etc. So hendrix before EVH. NOW YNGWIE MALMSTEEN I985 1992 Different time frame overlapped van halen a little but basically ruled the neoclassical world single handed. No brother on drums no david lee roth nobody helping too much. Had to take metal as far as it did((Ulrich ROTH honorable mention). He is the last game changer and he is not rightly acknowledged. He's got the bag of tricks .necessary. I wish there was a place for SCHENKER and UFO. Best hard rock solos hall of fame stuff. Mslmsteen degree if difficulty exceeds all of the above. His Obnoxious is all tongue in cheek. I have met Yngwie a few times and we just laughed at his ''off' ways and he always grinned ay t us and opened up in conversation. He was interested in 'us' and wanted to know what we were doing. All the haters fell for his JOKE and still to this day they don't get it. Yngwie in his prime Yngwie scared the shit out of other guitar players! He was king!!!

When this came out I was a teenager, and it blew everything away. Suddenly every single guitarist needed to play like him. The same happened with EVH and JH before. One of the 3 most important rock guitarists of all times like it or not. This is pure fact.

Yngwie has written dozens of great songs. You need to start from the beginning with his first albums 'Rising Force' 'Marching Out' 'Trilogy' 'Odyssey' ect because there is some utterly stunning moments in there. 'll see the light' solo blew everyone mind at the time and nobody could play it until the internet came along.

I"m a big fan of YJM, but that's a bit of a stretch. He certainly popularized the hell out of it in the immediate post Randy Rhoads world, but Blizzard of Ozz hit before Varney brought Yngwie over for Steeler, and Blackmore was exploring some similar ideas on the first 2 Rainbow albums in '76-'78 and Uli Jon Roth likewise with the Scorpions on In Trance and Taken by Force. Granted, none went full balls to the wall neo-classical/romantic like Viking Kong, but the ideas/nucleus were there. Now, Yngwie's alternate picking in those early years were probably the best the hard rock/metal world had ever seen and while he does sweep more now, his right hand technique is still jaw-dropping.
