Yngwie is a guitar genius and legend, who pushed the envelope! I had the privelege of seeing him live at L'Amour Rock Club (Brooklyn, NY), way back in the early 80's in support of his 'Rising Force' release, and collective jaws dropped! Everyone walked out of there realizing that they just witnessed rock history!

I only have 1 wish for Yngwie. I wish for Yngwie to find and accept his "inner" peace. I love his passion and skills and his knowledge of historical music. What I want or like or love doesn't really matter because I am not Yngwie. I will make my way and enjoy life as I am allowed in my life, but I wish he would also find a way for him to find happiness in his own life. I will always enjoy neoclassical music. I love Yngwie music. I wish Yngwie appreciated Yngwie without the need for him to constantly prove he is worthy. Less is more sometimes and he needs to feel and learn this. I do hope he finds his happiness.

You need to start from the beginning with his first albums 'Rising Force' 'Marching Out' 'Trilogy' 'Odyssey' ect because there is some utterly stunning moments in there. @matthewarms37865 жыл бұрын
I"m a big fan of YJM, but that's a bit of a stretch. He certainly popularized the hell out of it in the immediate post Randy Rhoads world, but Blizzard of Ozz hit before Varney brought Yngwie over for Steeler, and Blackmore was exploring some similar ideas on the first 2 Rainbow albums in '76-'78 and Uli Jon Roth likewise with the Scorpions on In Trance and Taken by Force. Granted, none went full balls to the wall neo-classical/romantic like Viking Kong, but the ideas/nucleus were there. Now, Yngwie's alternate picking in those early years were probably the best the hard rock/metal world had ever seen and while he does sweep more now, his right hand technique is still jaw-dropping.
