You're really fucking good man. Great feel for the guitar. I have a question because I learned it off songsterr which is quite diff on some solo parts and clearly wrong cause yours sounds better. Also Why does your guitar sound so freaking perfect to their sound that Metallica has, what setting are you using ? Im.using a strat eould that matter? You literally sound exactly like hammett you could probably fill in for kirk when he is surfing now. Lol

Metallica is sacred to me and I’ve just not wanted to start it yet. Well I finally did, and I’m actually playing this SONG!! Carl! I was reading some of the comments and realized so many are from years ago. JSYK , your hands down the best teacher on you tube . I had many a lesson but never a thank you. So, thank you. We appreciate you doing what you do, from a long time ago all the way up to..................now. No doubt it likely gets hella boring for you and time consuming and takes you away from stuff you would rather do. But just think of all the people you would be letting down if you didnt do it any more. Think of all us students that have been with you from the beginning, and what about those new ones that would be totally screwed. Just remember Carl, its not always about what you want or need ok. Dont be selfish, and dont string us along only to dump us right in the middle of learning the Rain Song or Wish You Were Here. Can you imagine? Awful right! Dont be like all the others Carl, we cant go through all that again, we trust you. Just Kidding ya dumb ass! THANKS CARL, keep it up yo, like i said; hands down the the best teacher you make it that much easier to learn. much gratitude to you my friend. Peace~n~Joy

So i have my long deceased grandma's guitar, on my mothers side, i was born a year after she died from an aneurism sadly, 25th of December, 1993 is my birthday.. but i always felt an incredibly deep connection to her from my Mothers tellings...My mom is all i have.. Lately I've felt myself quite stuck and aimless in life, and i really want to learn to play her guitar. It needs new strings, which i sadly cannot afford anytime soon, but I'm really set on this..Also, as a newbie, how do i make sure, on a budget, that i can somewhat, reasonably, tune it properly? i sat, and thought about it for a while, and i came to the conclusion that Metallica - One , would be an incredibly good learning song. Both in tuning, but also pacing-wise, Is this correct? There's a bit of everything in this song.. We had choir in school so i have some idea of how to read music.. but I'm quite stumped on the rest. Can you point me towards someone who can help me out? I'm located in Denmark. Would really appreciate a hand.. i really need to to express myself. I also played drums and did classes on that back when i was 10, for about a year..but the money fell through in the end sadly. I can maybe upload my progress aswell here on youtube!

One is not a song you should learn on. I made that mistake. Do beginners songs and work from there. Once you get harmonic and pentatonic scales down and maybe can play around 10 songs decently then try One. Guitar Tuna is free on the app store and this is in standard E tuning so you dont need to buy anything. Good luck!
@bt61356 жыл бұрын
Touching story. However. Strings are cheap. And One is not the best song to learn if you’ve never played guitar. Unless you’re some kind of anomaly like Dimebag Darrell or something. But start off learning a couple of basic chord shapes and structures before you attempt a full piece. If you have to play a song, do smoke on the water like everyone else did🤘🏻

Anyone 2019? Hello, good work! Do you read notes or tablature. I´ve got this note for note transcriptions with tablature from Cherry Lane and a introduction by Wolf Marshall for Metallicas album ...And justice for all. You pointed out at 13.05 that that section you are playing is a lot of layers of different guitars. I think you´re right. But it is´nt exaktly note by note that section. I think you told told us that its very likely sounding. Almost every section you go thru seems to follow the note by note trancription from Cherry Lane? Do you have it youself? Kindley regards from Sweden.

это очень странно, но не зная Английского языка, мне намного легче учиться по этому видео, чем на русскоязычных каналах)))

It would be better if u show tabs also. Its hard to learn by only watching your fingers and listening to your voice. Please add tabs also
@AnaElizabeth254 күн бұрын
You can look up tabs online

Very good lesson overall, but you tend to randomly speed up on certain parts. Might work better with a click track of some sort perhaps.
