That’s great advice for electric guitar players. For acoustic guitars, playing closest to the fret always makes the notes ring better IMHO

You are so right! I play in the middle of the fret most of the time and it sounds clearer and sustains longer. Good point 🎶

In 48 years, I never cared about fretting next to the wire because the string only needs to be pushed down enough to land on the wire. It's widely taught that you must be closer, so you are right on Mr, Claus!
