Just stopping by to say that the audio track feature is insanely powerful and useful. I've been using it to transcribe music that hadn't been tabbed before. Mainly wacky mathcore stuff. (Daughters - Canada Songs) Using the panning/eq features on your virtual instruments/audio tracks/master is also extremely helpful for transcribing hard panned dissonant madness. The padding layout and functionality allow for some super accurate beatkeeping. Seriously. I was able to transcribe songs that were recorded to a drum track and NOT a metronome. How crazy. Thanks, Arobas.

It's important to note that if an audio track is not perfectly consistent during repeated sections, such as verses or choruses, or if it includes a "go to coda" in the score, syncing the score with the audio throughout will be unfeasible. This is because a performer may vary the timing slightly on repeated song sections. Therefore, even if the first verse is perfectly synced, subsequent repetitions may fall out of sync. A workaround is to create a new GP8 file without any repeats or "go to coda" sections in the score. The song should be written out completely from start to finish in an uninterrupted score. This approach may extend a 3-page score to 6 or 7 pages due to the absence of repeats. However, this method ensures that once completed, the score remains in sync throughout the performance, regardless of repeated sections. As of June 2024, GP8 does not offer the feature to mark audio sections according to the number of times they are played in the score. It would be beneficial if future updates included this feature. Until then, for songs with timing variations in repeated sections, the score must be laid out in a single, continuous sequence without repeats. You are welcome. 😋

Yes, thank you for that comment! Unfortunately I'm facing the same problem. As soon as I include "Repetitions" my sync points, get messed up. Love GP8, really great tool and I recommend it - only thing I would love to be added is some kind of "the sync points will stay, also if I add repetitions etc." button

Thank you GP8 for this wonderfull software. Really love it - I have one suggestion though: As soon as I include "Repetitions" my sync points, get messed up. I would love to be have issome kind of "the sync points will stay, also if I add repetitions etc." button. The only solution I found so far is to make a GP8 File WITHOUT any repetions (dal segno etc.), which is not so optimal, because I would like to save myself some pages and make the sheet easier readable

Hi Alex, we suggest making the structure beforehand and fitting the synchro points once the structure is fixed. Sorry, we take note but we won't have better solutions now.

Super useful tool. One thing I wish it had though was the option to adjust the GP8 tuning frequency rather than changing the frequency of the song. I transcribe a lot of old guitar songs and I want to keep the guitar tuning to the frequency that can be heard on the record rather than retune the songs to 440.

This is a great feature. I'd like a feature pretty simple. I'd like to add color to certain notes. For example I'd like to put certain notes in red, let's say I want to teach my students where the musician used the M6 of each minor chord, so when they see this highlighted note they could easily understand what I mean. It's a simple feature but very useful, especially in jazz transcriptions where there is a lot to highlight.

I'm learning the drums and I find this a great tool. I sync my backing track bar by bar from the very start. What I would like to see is a better mixer. The levels indicator is too small and you have no idea what the levels are. Even using a mouse to set the volume levels are clunky and you can't enter the value via the keyboard. I gave up trying it on a trackpad. I would also like to see the metronome settings being stored in the project file rather than globally set!

Good video. But I wonder why you don't demonstrate the filter option...oh maybe because it's completely broken and unusable ... I also don't recommend to synchronize the beginning and after the end. Unless you have a very accurate track recorded with a drum machine, even if you start is good, the end is rarely on the marks. It surely add a lot of problems to re-synchronize all after that. I prefer my method : first the intro, and after go for the beginning of all the verse/chorus/solo/outro... This could save you a looooooot of time...

It's a FANTASTIC feature. HOWEVER! It makes guitarpro crash extremly often for me. Most of the time it happens when i try to undo a decision, actually it happens around 95% of the times i do this. Especially if it's a song longer then 5 minutes, and definitely if i try to tab a 10+ minute song. It also happens randomly and when i'm working with tempo changes, Please look into this and fix it! It will save me lots of time as i save very often, but not often enough when it comes to how often it crashes.

The idea is good. But, the implementation is extremely crude. 1. automatic audio to midi conversion. Now this feature is available in all music software, Logic Pro X, Melodyne and so on. I don't understand why it's not implemented by default. 2. Why is there a restriction on the use of only one audio file? I have a lot of solos in DAW that I need to transcribe, I need to be able to keep each solo on a separate track in Guitar Pro. 3. You have made filters to change the sound of an audio file. Why didn't you implement the functionality that transcribers use? This is, for example, subtracting the middle of the spectrum of the mix, so you can, for example, remove the kick, snare, and bass, and it becomes more convenient to transcribe guitars that sound in a double track with panning. Or you need a karaoke-type functionality, that is, a vocal removal function so that you can listen to the arrangement without vocals, and so on. Do some research on what kind of instrumentation transcribers use, especially not those who have perfect pitch, but those who professionally alter an audio file to make specific instruments audible. This will be a good list for you in the backlog for implementing the necessary functionality.
