Use different voicings but in the same octave! (Usually same chord but with root fretted on an adjacent string). I’ve recently incorporated this trick into one of my compositions and it was a game changer.

Hi Sandra, love your videos. Quick question: why did you say "B7b9 chord in the shape of a D#diminished chord"? Given it was a chromatic move between D and E, D# seems like the correct chord. Was it b/c of the "circle/cycle of fifths" movement between B and E? If so, how do you explain the move from D to B? thanks (eagerly awaiting your response!)
