As usual, I am here to learn the chords to play to accompany singing, with a little melody interlude included. Also, I just figured out that a minor 11 chord is a sus2, I think. Thank you again Sandra and Gruss Gott from the states!
@GuitarversumSandraSherman4 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoy my lessons, Paul. A m11 chord is theoretically not a sus2 chord. A sus chord doesn't have a 3rd. Sus always means, that there's no third in the chord. In a m11 chord there's 3rd, a 7ths and a 4th. The fourth is called an 11th if there's a7th in the chord (just add 7+4=11). Musical is basically math, lol. Happy holidays 🎄🎁🎸🎵

Perfect choice. I've struggled with this one last year (albeit with a somewhat more complicated voicing using more embelliments and transition chords) that I've seen on KZbin. This rendition will make it much easier, (with your help of course). Should you care to do a more advanced rendition with more chord embellishments, this song I believe, can present a learning opportunity for those of us intermediate players wanting to be challenged a bit more, and appreciate the possible variations. That said, thanks for this, and all your lessons (and the Holiday Bundles!).
@GuitarversumSandraSherman5 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Abe! I try to keep the Christmas songs easy, so most people can play them. But I've already finished a lot of advanced tutorials for january 😊. Stay tuned!

@@GuitarversumSandraSherman That's great. If you care to look at this, here is the song cover, I struggled with last year. I was able to get most chord's but couldn't tell how many were formed. ""Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" by Ken Willinger. I'm okay, and don't expect it, if you don't have the time (or desire) to view. Best always, Abe, Self described intermediate, not advanced recreational player.

I really like this relatively simple arrangement. I made some changes. For example, I use A-7 at the 5th fret, where all I need do is layover for the C note (effectively a #9) and it means I'm already at the middle of the neck for the next series of changes and allows some gentle sustain/ringing of the A-7 chord before the D-11 voicing. All that said, you are a very good teacher. I've been playing a long time and I very much like your approach. Wishing you all the best of the season. Have a happy solstice ;)
@GuitarversumSandraSherman5 жыл бұрын
That sounds very reasonable. It's great you know how to adapt an arrangement to your liking. Well done! Happy solstice 😉

The Backing Tracks have 2 files that are supposed to be 1 fast 1 slow but both are titled 58bpm. One does have 3x in the file name but by default seems to play at the same speed. The file sizes are different though... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, that must be a mistake in the description. Sorry bout that. Since this is a slow song, an even slower version (as on many other tracks I sell and just copy pasted the text) for practicing doesn't make sense. It's I'll one tempo,with one track only one chorus and the second one with 3 choruses, for practicing or performing in a 3x loop plus ending.
