Thanks, Barry! Freddie is hard for me on video, when I can't change the volume quickly. I'm not really satisfied with the B-section timing, but hey, the A-section hopefully makes up for it, hehe.

Your welcome, Sandra. Even though I may have my criticisms from time to time your channel is by far the best jazz guitar educational channel there is. Nothing else comes close. BTW, got any good transition chords when cycling dominant 7 chords by fourths (like in rhythm changes bridge)? I am looking for new sounds to put in my mind’s ear when soloing over such changes. Tonicizing any upcoming dominant chord with a ii-V relative to that upcoming chord is something that I presently hear and do. Looking for more new transition sounds!

Fantastic Sandra!!! A 'must know' for any jazz musician.
@GuitarversumSandraSherman3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! And you should transpose it to different keys. At least the ones you can start playing from the E-string, like in the tutorial. When I started out many years ago, I though knowing the Rhythm Changes in Bb was enough. then I went to a session and they played them in Eb and off I went from stage, with a red face,lol.
@rickjensen27173 жыл бұрын
Oh no ☺! we've all been there! They changed key from Bb to A at the beginning of the A3 section once when I was playing this 🤯 - a bit easier to negotiate than Eb though 😊

Another great lesson from her honour, the Empress of Jazz. I am trying to hook up a Danish friend of mine to this channel. (Our band drummer, who is now interested in learning guitar - Our band is called "Mid life Crises"_because we all learnt playing musical instruments post age 24 Lol! - I am now 36 and he is 47). He is awfully negative about Jazz Online guitar teachers (Says all they do is boast and show off). I man cyan't wait to hear his views when he samples from the maestro, Sandra - such a humble and phenomenal gifted person. Your lessons have unlocked a lot of mysteries for me and have helped foil the loneliness many go through due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Oh, thans so much 😘. At the conservatory we learned to associate song beginnings with intervalls. Like the b7 intervall at the beginning of the original Star Trek TV theme. (I'm a Trekkie 😄)
