Gulfstream Test Flight Around Florida - Pilot VLOG 091

We were having a few minor issues with the Gulfstream, so we went for a test flight around the area to check everything out. We spent a little over an hour in the air checking the Angle of Attack indications, oil pressure indication, auto throttle function, and satellite communications.

I have flown many different types of jet aircraft throughout my career. . Let’s see, Lear 24,25, 35, g-II, g-4, jetstar I and II, citation 500, hs 125-400/700, BAC 1-11, westwind, b-727 very limited. I’m sure I’ve forgotten something, comes with old age.Lol. Add to that mechanic training for each aircraft as well. Yes, I stayed busy with recurrent training. No, not all at the same time.

Best video to date for me. Getting to fly along on a test flight and getting to see first hand the problems that you encountered was epic. The cockpit view was great . Being able to see all of the controls and panels along with seeing out the front windshield was so cool. You guys are the best. I am so glad I found your channel so long ago. Just to note the video was spot on along with the sound. I am always so amassed how well you both can keep up with all the radio traffic. I'm sure with all the practice you both have it comes easy. As always a very impressive video. I'm sure you have already but a complete inside and outside walk around with narration would be great. Thanks guys for all you do. When I was an airline AMT one of us always went on the test flight out of Base Maintenance. BAC1-11, F-100, DC-9 and MD80, 737-200,300,400. It was always interesting.

Great video, I love every bit of it, and to see the throttles do that, interesting. That's what I was studying to become at one time an Airframe and Powerplant mechanic, I would have specialized in the jet engines. My best friend still holds his A&P license. Still would love to be an A&P mechanic, there is a big but in there, I'm older now, and not really in the best of shape. Keep the videos coming, would love to see some more tech videos as well, and some more beautiful scenery again, you get some of the best video of it.

Nice work. Been out of flying for several years. I really love the on screen charts and verification systems (runway etc) used - SOOO much better than changing Jeppeson Charts every week and carrying around all the paperwork. And the MFD checklist. Much more efficient, convenient and safe than the old checklists. Also, it is important the people understand that even though being a pilot is exciting and looks somewhat easy, it really is a difficult job and can really wear on a person from time to time. I really love your vids and watching your work. You are a credit to the front seat and bring a great view of all the work to make travel safe. Be proud, I think you both deserve to be. Thanks, Larry

Nice to see that when the crap ain't goin right, there are still two skilled guys that are actually the one's FLYING this beast. That auto throttle stuff was weird, and incidentally, if you go back onto the video you will find that a few times, that throttle synch was out of wack for 10-20 secs even while you and Jon handn't even noticed it..... and then all of a sudden ( once again ) Jon chimed in..... LOOK.. at those throttles "again" Great work and great video.

A.G.- FWIW i havent taken very many airplane flights (some vacations) but i remember my top favorite airplane flight was in an L1011, due to sound quality inside, roominess, and ride characteristics. I did notice, however, the significant flexing of the interior walls.😧

Another great video guys. Please pass along to everyone behind the scenes how much positive feedback you get. You guys get the glory, but everyone knows the vast numbers of maintenance, cleaning, ground, flight ops and management personal required to make these flights happen. Especially pass along all the positive hype to the higher-ups at Presidential, as I can imagine it took some effort to get them on board with your videos. Also, thank you for replying on so many (if not all) the questions that come in the comments. Huge part of what you're doing. Hope you can keep it up (at least at some level) when you have 10x the number of followers and you're making as much of KZbin as you are off flying the bird. Have you ever thought about doing a video next do you do sim work? It would be really cool to see you in a few emergency situations. Keep up the great work.

Hey guys, this is my favorite video so far! I always like to troubleshoot too. You both need some striped bass fishing for the circle hooks on your hats. I recommend fishing the jetties in Long Branch or Deal NJ when you have some free time near TEB. The striper season is just beginning to get good. Expect 10-40 pound fish through October. The stripers like the big wooden plugs too and the bluefish will fight like mad. Have fun and keep up the great work!

This was a really absorbing video. Attention to detail, and ensuring a 100% A/C. Those throttle's walking around was pretty distinct, and as You both noted, in back that would not feel too comfy. Unless the recorded sound was a lot different than actual, that one controller was very hard to pick out, with all the attention being focused on the issues, and relaying them to the A&P guy, you did an amazing job of hearing ATC, Things really were fast paced for a while. A really great video, of sorting issues. Thanks for the ride.
