Apparently Sara (the ice cream) was originally going to be named Dolly but probably would have been too obvious that she seemlessly replaced Molly in Season 2. There was never really an explanation by production on why just that Molly was considered boring, but this show is so wild that it just adds to the 'Amazing Lore of Gumball!'

To a similar caliber, Tobias' sister Rachel (the rainbow-haired girl that kissed Darwin) was thought to have the same treatment, appearing in the background a handful of times in season 1 and her mysteriously disappearing along with Molly. Absent even in episodes focused on her family and house, which led to a whole lotta fan speculation after the concept of The Void was revealed. The answer is way simpler, the show runners found her to be too much like Tobias and didn't want two of the same personality, so they just silently removed her from background roles and gave him the spotlight since they were the same archetype of a bratty and entitled rich kid. Spoiler at the end of the show (sorta): Her disappearance is referenced as a throwaway joke in the Darwin spin-off series after the main series ended. Tobias gets asked what happened to Rachel, he essentially dismisses it by saying "Nothing, she went to college." lol

Sometimes you can see a bit of Richard in the kids like when Nicole was gone and they were home alone being lazy, but sometimes you can see a bit of Nicole in them like when Anais was beating Richard when she thought he was the man chasing them. 😂

I think that Mr.Small is my favorite secondary character. I love how far they stretch his Hippie / "Alternative Medicine" / Conspiracy Theorist characteristics. It makes for a fairly unique and entertaining spin on a school conseler. Plus, he flat out took psychedelics multiple times in the show; how did they get away with half of his antics in the show?

The first time I saw The Void, it messed with my head. When they first saw the outline of Molly, I suddenly realized that she had been missing and it wasn’t just the characters that didn’t notice, but me as well. It almost felt like the void had somehow erased my memory too.

I have a recommendation : pls watch “Infinity train”, it’s a really good series. To describe, it like “over the garden wall”, the series focuses more on exploring the world and characters’ development, it also has mystery atmosphere, it definitely worth the watch
