Wow! You’ve established such an amazing brand. Keep up the great work! It’s interesting to see GBB performance broken down using science. The best GBB cold weather performance begins with ensuring the gas bottle/container is also kept warm as this will ensure a more reliable gas fill. You can hear the liquid gas spill into the cooler magazine much more of the can is warmer than the vessel that it’s filling. Also your kitty is pretty 😺

@@4UADSmartAirsoft That is going to be a while. But I did try something today. Well, I wanted to do some plinking but the weather was too cold for my KWA Mac11. It beaved strangely compared to the closed bolt systems, in this one the bolt carrier itself pushes the valve knocker )the analog of the firing pin) and the first shot was seemingly okay but the blowback was very weak, the carrier did not go back far enough to be able to hit the valve strongly enough. Very strange behaviour, my nozzle broke a while ago, this is a wii aluminium nozzle, iirc the gun did not behave this way with the factory plastic nozzle, it was more cold resitant, in fact I think the reason it broke was because I used it in full auto in very cold.

It's probably been suggested.. But doing more on this in HPA guns with this setup. Testing different weights with different PSI and how it changes, you could even go into different barrel lengths and diameters. Hell you could probably do it with just standard AEG's as well with different springs and barrel diameters and lengths as well.

i think less liquid gas in inside to magazine can improve the gas efficiency, because it allow the liquid gas to haver more space to vaporise, which the marui apply similar technique to their mws mag, because of the design the mag only allow player the insert certain amount of liquad gas into the mag which it leave a lot of space for the liquid gas to vaporise overall improving the gas efficiency and we all know that marui mws can perform the best out of all gbb in the cold weather.

"efficiency" is a common but very, very incorrect term to refer to the amount of shots per fill. A gun can be designed to have stronger kick and therefore consume more gas such in WE's, or have pitiful recoil but consume less gas, such as in KWA's. But as long as there's no wasted gas (e.g. bad seal between the nozzle and bolt carrier / bbu), both are equally efficient
@4UADSmartAirsoft

That is actually a good point, thanks man! For the future reviews we will make sure we let people know about the recoil.

Also, even better way of judging GBBs gas consumption is to measue amount (weight) of gas required to shoot, for example, 20BBs, since maximum amount of gas that can be filled in magazine is different for every GBB
@4UADSmartAirsoft
@4UADSmartAirsoft 3 жыл бұрын

@4UADSmartAirsoft
@4UADSmartAirsoft 3 жыл бұрын
yep GHK mags are designed with 2 tubes one holds liquid gas the other is gas, this method simply gives more room for the liquid gas to turn in to gas, and the temperature wouldn't drop as much! But ya it would be a lot of fun to review different mags from different companies!

One major issue I have with this video is that you fill the mags in room temp and then cool/heat it. The gas bottle, empty mag and pistol should be cooled/heated together and only when target temp is reached should the mag be filled. I like the idea of your setup here but you will not be able to create accurate results/simulate play conditions unless you reach temperature before filling the mags: if you take a look at the ideal gas law it includes Pressure, Volume, Temperature and amount of gas(mol) If you have a set amount of gas in a set volume container(magazine) and reduce the temperature you will get less pressure that is obvious BUT you would never fill a warm mag with warm gas on a cold airsoft field! You would in fact fill a cold mag with cold gas on a cold field. If we look at the ideal gas law again you can simply increase the pressure of the (cold)magazine by increasing the amount of gas in the magazine, wich is suprisingly easy if you use a cold gas bottle because if we look at the ideal gas law(suprise): the same amount of gas takes up less volume at lower temperature.. I hope you are able to see relative to the magazine we are changing the varables by changing the order of actions. So to create accurate results you have to simulate what would happen in context of the user. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with in the future, this could definetly be an interesting channel to follow =P

Sure man, thanks for the in depth suggestion, we will look into that for sure, and this could actually be a good episode! ya I think we can do that for cold but for the heating test we might need to find a better solution so I don't blow up my room lol but still thanks for the suggestion!

hello, theres an idea ive always dreamed about. Its about performance in gbbs in cold weather. So the thing i do, is when i have fired the first shots, take out the mag and heat it up, then back in the gun, it really is much more effective. What if it was possible to have a type of tape or wrap, around the magazine, like a heater, so that it heats it up all the time, i guarantee that would be super cool, but a problem is that the magazine wont fit in the gun with a heater tape wrapped on it.

Hey, ive had an issue when playing in cold weather, below freezing temperatures. I play with a sniper. after some shots the hopup just fails, or get really bad, and i just wonder what happens to the hop rubber?
@4UADSmartAirsoft
@4UADSmartAirsoft 3 жыл бұрын
It gets harden in cold weather and the friction heats up the rubber but it also creates moisture inside the chamber, this also really kills the hop up~

People really need to give higher pressure gas a chance. Simply switching from 12kg to 14kg gas allows us to get the same performance at 10ºC lower temperature, and going with 16kg allows 10ºC lower than that, which is enough for sub-zero temperatures. It boggles my mind to see people going with 12kg gas and hand warmers... just a couple minutes or a couple shots are enough to get the internal temperature down to freezing and non-working pressures. Let alone those fancy looking electric warmers.. batteries suffers the low temperatures even more so than the gas itself.

I think I forgot to mention co2 mags they work really great at cold temperatures! Just need to keep in mind the air seal build on the gun, because if the seal is bad even higher pressure gas can’t finish one mag and lock the slide to the rear during cold weathers :) but still man thanks for the heads up! It’s actually interesting about the high pressure gas use in different regions of the world, like in Asia higher pressure gas are commonly forbidden because during hot weather it just does too much damage to players and airsoft guns, and after sometime people start to refuse to use higher pressure gas, sometimes it’s a bit peer pressure related.

@@4UADSmartAirsoft in Argentina we use propane ("green" / 12Kg) for summer (15 to 35ºC) and propene / map pro ("red" / 14kg) for winter (5 to 25ºC). It rarely gets below that, but when it does, we just go with Map Pro anyway, I've used it down to -5ºC, it worked but the gas mileage was halved. The power difference between one and the other at the same temparature is rarely more than 20FPS, as the floating valve compensates the higher pressure by cutting the flow towards the front sooner, and the pressure difference is just about 10-15%. What has a bad reputation is CO2 mags, as the pressure difference is so big there (8 times that of propane) that it almost always makes the guns shoot too hot

Hey good sir, which barrel length is better for my build? I’m thinking either a 420mm or a 455mm. Cyma platinum sr25, maxx me pro hopup housing, madbull blue, using the concave hop that is included with the maxx, and a elvish tac rhop patch. Prob shooting around 475 FPS and with a v2.5 gearbox. Along with a full cylinder and will be using 0.4 and above bbs. DEEEE EMMMMM EARRRR Thanks anyways

I would say for AEG I wouldn’t go above 420mm because of the air volume in the cylinder is not enough (this can be another episode actually) but ya sometimes it’s not the longer the better, I personally like 300-375mm for my dmr builds. I guess another myth to bust because I would consider this suggestion from myself biased.
